    Concerts

Let's talk about live music. What are some memorable shows you've been to, what artists were there, and why is it memorable?

I'll start off. I saw Paul McCartney live a few days ago. He played 3 hours worth of music, including a ton of old Beatles stuff, and he definitely doesn't sound like a nearly 70 year old man. It's just kind of crazy to hear songs that have influenced generations of musicians being played live by one of the guys who actually wrote them. Plus, after over 50 years of making music he still seems to enjoy performing. If you get the chance, I'd definitely recommend going to one of his concerts.

    Now your turn!

I think my favorite concert was Paolo Nutini in Philly a couple years back. Paolo isn't super well known in the states because he's from Scotland, so it was amazing to even see him live.
It was in this really small venue that only held maybe 100 people so there wasn't a bad seat in the house. It was all very intimate and everyone knew all the words to his songs and were singing along.
Not only is Paolo Nutini an amazing artist, but he's a really nice guy too. He went to this ice cream place across the street and invited all of his fans to join him, which I did.
So basically I got to watch Paolo play my favorite songs up close, and then got to hang out with him afterwards. It was crazy being able to have ice cream and talk with someone I respect and admire as much as him. It was, without a doubt, one of the best nights of my life.

    Sadly never been to one.

I really want to go to warped tour or a No Use For A Name show.

I have four that stick out for me. First is Elton John, which I thought was really awesome to get to see him perform live! Then there was the Blue Man Group. I like how they make both a comedy show and a concert happen in one go. Seeing the Trans-Siberian Orchestra was really neat. I liked the videos they played during each of their songs. I also got to see a concert with Trapt, Red, and Halestorm. Of the three, Halestorm was my favorite. I even got their CD before it was officially released for cheap!

The next concert I'm looking forward to is Volbeat and a couple other bands I don't know lol. Mostly going for Volbeat, because Danish rock is amazing!

Let's all agree to move away from 'T-rex arms' as the reference for tiny arms and move to the more appropriate 'Carnotaurus Arms'.

I was to a couple of them, but all the artists sucked a*s. Yes, they were horrid.

Anyways, if i was living in the USA i'd definitely go to one of Breaking Benjamin.

@Dr.: I don't know anything about Paolo aside from that time you sent me that song of his, but that sounds awesome! Not really a fan of his music, but he sounds like a cool guy.

@Lightning: You've seen Elton John? That's crazy! How was it? Also, I definitely agree Blue Man Group and TSO are awesome. TSO's effects blew me away when I saw them.

It was awesome! He didn't need any sort of special effects for his show. Sounded awesome both as a singer and a pianist. I'd see him again. Yeah, the Blue Man Group and TSO both have really good visuals going for them.

You've earned my jealousy for life because you've seen Elton John. That's so awesome!

My favorite concert ever was The Wailers. Of course, t'was not Bob, but Ziggy.

Anyways, I was planing to go see deadmau5, but my Sith Lord of a father said no.

Oh noes! Hopefully some rep giving will alleviate some of that jealousy. I hope you get to see Elton John live some day. I loved it!
