Apply here for jobs related to the forums, listed below. Forum Moderators While the forums have been moderated by the admins and more recently the community patrol, as the site continues to grow so will the need for forum moderators. Forum moderator duties include, but are not restricted to: -Removing spam/duplicate threads -Preventing offensive material being posted -Closing useless/old threads -Keeping threads on topic -Making sure the rules are being followed Forum moderators will be chosen by Site Admins and other relevant staff. Community Patrol Now this is a very special role in the community, something I will most probably be very careful in selecting. This being said, I'd love to see community members offering to help! Duties are sitewide and include: -Keeping the peace -Dealing with personal/sensitive issues -Settling arguments between members -Keeping the community informed about situations -Asking and informing the community about opinions on site and possible changes Community Patrol will be chosen by myself and other relevant staff. Grey Knightmare's personal note: I couldn't care less if you're an admin on the biggest forum in the universe, it doesn't make you any more suited to the role. We're looking for dedication and passion, not skill or experience, that can be taught, commitment can't. ---- Additional note: Every application remains valid until the user who posted it chooses to delete it. You're also free to make edits to your post with no need to update us on whatever edit you made since we'll read through every application again once we're looking for someone to fill a spot. That said, please don't post a second application for the same job.
I'd still like to apply for Forum Moderator, please! As the site expands I'd be happy to help out around here, I really do adore this community and would love to help out with where I can! I'm pretty active on the site, spending the majority of my free time here. I think I'd be capable of the jobs, and would really enjoy helping keep the peace too. My timezone is GMT+0, by the way Thanks!
Hello, I’d like to apply for Community Patrol or Forum Moderator. I’m very active on the forums and would like to help out more with the community. Enforcing rules and keeping a safe environment for everyone is essential and I would love to help keep Everypony the safe and happy community it is. I love helping others and dedicating my time to assist others with issues of any kind. I already constantly browse around the site and check new posts frequently if there is any spam or rule breaking content to report. A staff job of any type requires much commitment, and I'm up for the challenge. I will keep EP as an extremely high priority and will always remain active as much as possible. Schedule: All day (once school is out in 7 days). My timezone is GMT-5 (Eastern) and I will essentially be on every day during the summer. If interviews are required, Skype is preferred. Thanks.
I want to apply for Community Patrol. I have experience in settling differences and dealing with problems, both public and personal. When someone asks something to someone, and i know the answer, i can't help but tell them first. I realized i point out various things to help members even though i shouldn't, even when they specifically ask a staff member, i tend to jump in between to answer before they do. So i figured i'd be way more helpful as an actual Community Patrol member. On weekdays, i'll be on for at least 3-4 hours, maybe longer. On weekends, my schedule is rather unpredictable, but i'll be on most of the time if not all the time. For your consideration, Rarit E (sounds cheesy, doesn't it? )
I would like to take such an opportunity and put my name forward for Forum Moderator OR Community Patrol (I am willing to do either). I may not be the most post-intensive, but I would call myself considerably active on the site, being able to access it majority of the time at uni, and most of the time at home. I don't like doing applications such as these however, as they make me feel like I'm boasting about how great I am, when I prefer others to make such a call. Nonetheless, I like to see myself as approachable for the most part, I am a problem solver, and like to say that I'm decent in the ways of logic, reasoning, and critical thinking. I will admit I'm fairly up and down on a regular basis when it comes to mood, but I try my best to not show it, which could lead to disastrous results on innocent members. When it comes to problems, I like to think that I don't get bias in the way of judgement (eg. friends). In my normal state of mind, I will very often try to help those in need, especially when it comes real life issues, such as bullying, depression or stress as common examples. I enjoy making establishments being greater or better than it was previously, hence my involvement in Review team currrently. I will admit that I can come off as weird or odd a fair bit, due to my tastes in many areas, I just hope people see past that. I am GMT+12, with weekdays being a bit sketchy due to outrageous Uni timetable, but majority of the time I'll be on. Weekends, all day (~1pm-~1am(wake-sleep times)) I give all applicants the best of luck, and am sure those chosen will do their absolute best in their designated positions. I thank thee in great proportions for reading, ~Xan~
I don't want to apply. I'd just like to relate my experiences in having been a mod elsewhere. Being a mod is like being entrusted with something precious and fragile. You'll be called on to check strange links, sort out trouble between people who have been your friends, (and enemies), in an un-biased way, no taking sides it'll make the site look bad. When someone is on vacation you'll be called on to do different jobs, so you familiarize yourself with the other positions on the site. You'll still come here like always, but you'll no longer be a member. Being a mod grants you more respect, but you lose the casualness, the 'just here for fun' of being a plain old member. Half the time you see someone trying to be nice, and you wonder is it me or my position here that they like? When I was a mod I felt compelled to come every day and to sort through every new post. Over time it became like an unpaid job. I left not because of any of that, but because of my fellow mods. Infighting, petty jealousy's, favoritisms, (admins pet), and so on. Anyhow, be careful, do a good job and the site will run well and be safe.
I'd like to be Community Patrol (or forum mod seeing the large amount of people applying for CP). I have experience in dealing with many problems in real life, public and private and am a very understanding person. I am also founder and co-founder of two different groups on deviantArt, and I have settled numerous arguments amongst the vast reaches of the interwebs. I'm on this website most of this time , and have been since the time I joined in January. I probably spend more active time on this website that I do anywhere else on the internet and I would like to contribute to this wonderful community any way I can.
I'd like to apply to position of community patrol I feel that there are Windigos over our little forum and I want to help by bringing love, tolerance, generosity, laughter, kindness, loyalty, honesty and magic back to this forum. My special talent is winter, and I want to help wrap up winter on our little community to be warm and pleasant place like (Equestria) it once was. what I have to offer: experience: - I'm currently admin of Two Tailed Fox Forum which is currently biggest Tails fan community - mod on Boarder-zone.net - admin of Zagreb Bronies - long time member on everpony.com dealing with problems: - I always see myself as peace keeper and would like to stay in touch with community as one of them, and keeping everyone happy. - I think all problems can be talked over before doing some steps, punishments should step in only if talking to member doesn't work. - Since I'm ESFJ by personality, I can usually easily reason with people and see there problem where it's occurring, and try to solve it. - as I said in intro, I believe in values that are in show that brought us all here in the first place (other thing is that I believed in them before I was brony). - i'm a team player and always prefer of doing things in teams. - as I said before, talking about the problems and issues among members or members and forum as it is, is key to my way dealing with problems. I'll always be unbiased when dealing with problems and listen to all parties involved before taking some steps. also, if important, my timezone is CET (Central Europe Timezone)
I would like to apply for the position of forum moderator. However, before I describe why I think I would be good for the job, I will describe why I would not be good for the job. That way, I will get the negative stuff out of the way first, so that you can determine whether or not it would be worthwhile to read the rest of my application. Firstly, I am not very active on this site. I lurk way more than I post. No one here knows me, because the last time I posted something (before this) was probably January 2012. Secondly, I'm under 18 years old (I'm 15), and I don't know whether or not you accept staff members who are not adults. Now that I have that out of the way, I will describe why I think I would make a good forum moderator. The reason is this: I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and I think that this is a good community; therefore, it would be my honor to help keep the discussion about a show I care about so much appropriate. Plus, this is one of the most impressive internet communities that I have ever seen. Too many are just plain mean, whereas, from what I have seen, people here are generally nice to each other. I think that that is very good. I feel that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has truly changed my life, for personal reasons that I will, for the most part, not go into here. However, one reason that I will go into is that I feel it has helped me to be way less angry. I was never pervasively angry in the past, but there were moments where I would lash out at people harshly. Though I still have those moments, I feel that they have drastically decreased in number, as well as decreased in severity. Therefore, it would be very nice to have the opportunity to be a forum moderator for a friendly community for a show that has changed my life for the better. I like to spread kindness (when I am not feeling too shy to do so), so it would be an honor to be able to keep an eye out for any flaming or negative discussions, and stop them. I would do my best to enforce all site rules, and perform any other tasks required of me. My general policy is that if a site's administration is good and fair, then I will work very hard to follow all instructions and complete all required duties. I do not know whether or not I will be chosen. But, I do know that I will continue to enjoy using this site, even if I don't post that much. Thank you for taking the time to read my application. Sincerely, Tempest
I would like to apply to be a forum moderator. Reasons? I've been here for almost a year. I know the rules. Just lock a couple of threads here and there. Done. Gordon Ramsay style.
I would like to try apply for forum moderator or community patrol. This community has helped me so much in the past and I would like to give a little bit by offering my services. I am currently very active on these forums, I come here everyday and check up every now and again when I am not studying or doing other stuff. Other reasons as to why I would be good for the job is that I do my best to be loyal and dependable. When I take up something I do't let people down. I am a hard worker and I am considerate to other people. The only downsides are that I sometimes have internet problems, and at the moment I am in school and am writing exams. Whether you decide to put me in is entirely up to you. I am available. I just want to be useful to this wonderful community. By the way my timezone is +2 GMT.
I would like to put forward my own name for Forum Moderator or Community Patrol. I'm very active on the forum, especially in the General Discussion section. I have no experience as an admin or moderator, but I can say this: This site has done so much to change everything about my life, and I'd love to try and give something back. Thanks to a number of members here, I now try to take it upon myself to lighten the mood everywhere I go. I try to make people laugh and smile, to cheer them up when they're down, and to try and help them through their problems. I think I might be good for the job for that reason. I want nothing more than for everyone to have fun together while following the rules, and if I can help in this endeavor, I'd love to be given the chance. I'm aware that as a mod, I would be called upon to deal with situations outside the rules, but for what it's worth, as a long-time denizen of the internet, I can stomach a lot of graphic content without even batting an eye. :derpe: My time zone is GMT -5, Eastern Standard Time in the USA, and someone has noted to me before that there aren't enough non-European mods and that can cause problems when something comes up late at night for them.
I already applied for Community Patrol somewhere in this thread, but i'd like to add an application for Moderator as well. I'm on this website pretty much all the time when i can spare it. Which is roughly 3-5 hours on weekdays, 10 hours or longer on weekends. I know what it means to be a moderator, i can be serious when i have to be, but i'm generally easy-going. I know not to pick sides in an argument and treat all parties equally. I have very good judgement when it comes to that as well. More importantly, i care enough about this website that i want to help improve it. I share my own ideas and give my opinions on other people's ideas. I know i may have made a few mistakes in the past, but i do my best to improve myself as well. (Mistakes are there to learn from )
SnowM, that's the RP Forum, which the application for is under the RP Applications thread found here. Just letting you know.
I would LOVE to be a forum moderator. Even though I'm new here I've jumped in whole-heartedly. This place is amazing and I would love to help it. My time zone is GMT -6. I'm on around every other hour. Please Consider!
I would wish to apply to be a forum moderator. I am a responsible young male who lives in Australia, and though I may only be on occasionally (2 weeks or so) I will try to help the site as much as I can. I run a few free forums of my own, so I am familiar with some of this stuff, and a job like this would help me out a lot. Please consider my request, and thankyou for your time.
Earlier on in this thread, I applied to be a forum moderator. However, now, after some thought, I have decided that I would also like to apply for the position of Community Patrol. I do not intend this application to overwrite my previous one for forum moderator; if you do decide to hire me one day, I am willing to have either position. Firstly, I must say that this is probably the best internet community I have ever found. I think that the fact that the staff cares about us so much that there is an entire position dedicated to helping us out, Community Patrol, is wonderful. This, to me, reminds me of why I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I view a connection between the position of Community Patrol and my love for that show. Now, I will describe some of what My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has done for me. Then, I will explain why I view this as connected to the position of Community Patrol, and why I would love to have that position. If I remember correctly, I started watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic two years ago, in the summer of 2010. I was a very different person back then. I had various habits that I view as negative that I still struggle with today, but the show has begun to help me overcome. I said horrible, obscene things, and I treated some people disrespectfully. I had cast aside morality in favor of focusing on what was fun, and what was easy. However, once an online friend of mine convinced me to watch the show, my life began to change. I was transforming, beginning to move beyond that dark stage of my life. It was a long process, and still is, for it continues today. I was even worse in certain ways in 2011. However, more recently, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has had a much stronger impact upon my life. The show has begun to inspire me. One of my problems that I still struggle with sometimes is how to deal with the darker aspects of this world. I am currently 15, but when I was 13 and 14, just beginning to learn about some of the horrible things in the world, my response to all of it was anger. I also began to lose hope. I thought that humanity was doomed to suffer an inevitable apocalypse, and that there was no hope for us to live in peace and happiness. However, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic began to change my perspective on life. I am filled with joy when I watch that show and I see how peaceful their world is; I see how kind and loving they are to each other, I see how compassionate they are, and I see how they overcome difficulties. Seeing all of this in the show has inspired me to completely change how I view the world. I am no longer angry at the world. Yes, I do get angry when I think about or see horrible things, but I am no longer angry at the world as a whole. I now have hope for humanity. I know that it is possible for us all to live in peace and happiness, just as the ponies do in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I now know that, though our world has both love and hatred, love greatly overcomes hatred. I do my best to no longer hate anyone. I try to love everyone, no matter who they are, what they have done, or what they plan to do. I do not think that hating anyone will make anything better. Now, to describe how this ties in with why I would love to join the Community Patrol. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic inspires me to be as kind, loving, and helpful towards others as possible. I just love when I am able to make someone happy, comfort someone who is upset, give advice to people, and just be there for them. I remember how sad and upset I have been at certain times in my life, and I feel inspired to try to help others to not be sad. I love the idea of being able to comfort people who are in distress. I want to spend the rest of my life helping others, and I think that being part of the Community Patrol here would be a wonderful opportunity for me to help others. We all have times in our life when we are sad; even Pinkie Pie. However, just as Pinkie reaches down and pulls sad Pinkie out of the darkness in the Smile Song, I always want to be a hand reaching down into the darkness for anyone who needs help to grab onto, and be pulled into the light. In my opinion, every act of kindness is very important. No act of love towards another is insignificant. If we were all kind to one another, accepting of one another's differences, we could all live in peace. We could live in a world where everyone was shocked at the idea of hatred, just as the ponies in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic were when they watched the Hearth's Warming Eve play. I would love to play my part in bringing the world one step closer to peace. I hope to spend my life loving, comforting, and helping others, so that the world will be a better place than it was before I was born. No matter how small the improvement is, when I die I will know that I had been able to help others during my time here on earth, and the idea of that makes me very happy. Being a member of the Community Patrol here would mean so much to me, because I would be able to begin walking down the path of loving others, comforting others, and helping others, that I hope to walk down for the rest of my life. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my application. Love, Tempest
I would wish to be on community patrol, for many reasons. I have dealt with problems before on the site with others. i want as much as anypony, for the site to be clean of problems. I feel like a would make a great edition because I'm a good mediator, and I can handle issues with other ponies. I've dealed with bullying all my life, and i know how much it sucks to have someone hurt you. i think the last place you should feel threatened is on a website of love and tolerence. I all want is to help people with their issues.
