Space, the final frontier. For years, man has looked up to the skies and wondered what laid beyond his planet. Then the future came. Now man wonders what lays beyond the window of the bridge of his Galactic Union Bowman-class starship. He also wonders what type of food the Titian Station will have and why Union regulation requires him to keep a weekly audio journal of his exploits, but that's for entirely different story that won't concern you. Yet. You have had the honor of being recruited as an Ensign about the GU's most prestigious flagship, the UGS Infallible. Coming back from it another tour-of-duty, fresh bodies are needed to fill in the gaps left by those who died in service to the GU, and the Titian Station has a fresh new batch of graduates from the Academy to compensate. You find yourself on the last shuttle from the station to the Infallible. The ride is somewhat claustrophobic and bumpy, you have time to get to know each other.
Bob had his eyes closed on the trip, his hands laced through the fingers, thinking about his days at the academy. The ride was a bit bumpy and it was a bit full, but he'd been in situations like that before. Being in a bar full of drunks helped with any claustrophobia, and well, some of the car chases were bumpy from a standpoint. A brown eye of his lazily opens as he takes a look around the shuttle, seeing who else will be joining him aboard the Infallible.
Kirk sighed wistfully, and stared out the porthole, watching Titian Station grow smaller and farther away with each passing second. He'd spent nearly two months on the station, training for his new job aboard the Infallible, and had managed to bed at least one female of nearly every sapient species in the Galactic Union. He wished he had just one more day aboard the station. That haughty Grontian woman from the armory had finally smiled at him yesterday. A night with her would have completed the set.
As the shuttle lurched and docked with the Infallible, Most of the other fresh recruits silently stood up as the back of the shuttle opened to the airlock where three officers waited for them. The officer in a darker red shirt that big, burly, and covered in scars stepped forward and looked over the group. "Security personnel, report to the barracks in five." He said in a low, rumbling voice. "We will have orientation at 1300 Hours and PT at 1500. Move out, now!" he barked before marching off. The next officer, a completely sealed orange suit with no visibility on the wearer inside stepped forward, his suit expelling air after every few seconds. "Pardon... Lieutenant Capolla..." it said in a mechanical yet wheezing voice. "He's been... grumpy every since his... pet turtle... went missing.... Any engineering personnel... Follow me..." It trudged away more air releasing from the suit as some confused ensigns followed. The last officer, a bald female humanoid with smooth, shiny skin stepped forward in a blue uniform. "Right, I guess those of that are left of part of the science team. I am Lieutenant Commander Yasnida, and I'm the head of the science depart on the Infallible. Unlike my fellow compatriots, I am happy to have more hands on deck." She as looked over them with a smile. "Follow me and I shall direct you to your lab stations."
Bob lightly cracked his neck as he heard the three officers talk. Knowing that he didn't want to be late for anything, he decided to just walk straight out of the shuttle in the direction of the barracks, not fooling around. When he had orders to do, he'd do them, no questions asked. That's just the type of guy that he was. There'd be plenty of time to check out the station at it's fullest later, anyways. Hopefully he'd get to do some training later. He could always use more training to better himself.
Timothy jolted awake. "Wait.. Huh. Where do I go again?" He asked lazily, his eye kids still half shut. "I'm just the IT guy." You really couldn't tell from looking at him. Probably wasn't fit for the job either. But unfortunately, in this Galaxy students go into crippling debt by the capatalist hands of the academies.
Kirk grinned broadly as he followed Commander Yasnida. "Happy to be under someone so agreeable, ma'am." He looked back to Timothy, who was still standing around looking confused. "Move it, I-T! You're with us."
"Aye...." Replied the groggy Timothy. He shambled over to the group of scientists and followed the group to their destination.
"Right." Yasinda replied as she led the ensigns to the clean and equally-as-shiny-to-her science wing of the ship. Various windows showed labs of experiments from genetic engineering on a simple Fultani Flower to research on the latest weaponry. Several ensigns split, finding their own assigned labs. "Here on the Infallible , we work tirelessly on all sorts of projects across the Union. Now..." she said as they reached the end of the hallway with a door on each side. "To the left is Xenology and to the right is computer mainframe." She waved a hand to the left. "I don't need to remind you on what Xenology is, Ensign..." she squints are the name patch on Kirk's shirt. "Ensign Jameson." She turned to Timothy. "Ensign Lawrence, you have the pleasure on working with ship's mainframe and the new... AI robot. I'd be careful around him. He's a bit testy..." -------------------------------- Meanwhile in the barracks, all the Ensigns talked amongst each other from their bunks. They all look up at Bob as he walks in, before their gazes turn to behind him. More specifically, about mid-waist behind him. "Uh, excuse me mister." squeaked a young voice behind him. "Can you please move?"
"Uh... Testy in what way?" He was very clearly unnerved by the previous statement by Commander Yasinda. He reached for his service phaser and clenched his hand around the gun.
A look of worry came over the officer's face. "Nothing violent, jeez. Just irritating is all." she said, hoping it would calm Timothy down. "I heard that!" yelled a voice from the other said of the door. "You talking **** about me again?" Yasinda's posture turned into a disappointed slouch before responding. "No Bro-bot. No one is."
Another shuttle would dock with the ship. The pilot would look back, "You know, this sort of thing never happens at all, usually everyone is on time." There was a man who stood ready once the doors opened, yet, he said nothing and walked out, viewing the inside of the large ship. He had white hair, wearing a white military coat, he had blue eyes to match the hair. He was expressionless, yet the look of seriousness was across him. He could not fathom the thought of being the new ship security, yet it was the only job he would take due to being military once upon a time.
Bob gave a small nod as he stepped aside for the man, his arms crossed as he looked around the barracks. He had everyone's attention, maybe that's because of his muscular body set... Who really knows at this point. He uncrossed his arms, to rub the back of his neck, slightly, waiting.
(Oh crap, didn't see this update with the new forum and all.) The eyes seem to shift away from Tim to the small, mousy little boy walking past him. Literally mousey too, complete with a mouse ears, a tail , and a set of chompers. He scrambles over to his bunk, ignoring all the stares. Just then, everyone in the room snaps to attention as Lieutenant Capolla walks in, surveying the new recruits. "Dead. All of you are dead already."
Kirk took a quick glance around the xeno-lab, admiring the fantastic collection of alien specimens. The work they were doing seemed rather interesting, as well. He approached the lab director, a tall, blue-skinned woman with noticeable fangs. "Hello, my name is..." The woman cut him off. "Your name is Kirk Jameson, and you are my newest assistant. My name is W'relsha Errika, and you are currently wondering what I would look like unclothed." Kirk gulped. Approximately three percent of the Naja population were known to be gifted telepaths. It seemed that Errika was one of them.
Aizo walked through the ship, from what he this ship lacked guards, just from what he saw. He walked around until entering a room where there were multiple people, and then hearing a man saying they were all dead already. He was struck with confusion, "Dead from what?" He asked in a deep yet slightly vocal.
Bob stared at the Lieutenant as he entered the room, after hearing his initial comments, he couldn't help but give a small chuckle at the comment. Before angering the Lieutenant, he opened his mouth. "Sir... I apologize for laughing, but I don't think any of us would be here if we didn't know the risk involved. What could happen out there."
(New site and all that. Excuse the delay.) Timothy opened the doors to the server room and feasted his eyes on all the equipment, as well as the Bro-bot. "Uh... so you must be Bro-bot. I'm Timothy, the new IT guy. So... I suppose I'm supposed to work with you?" The robot gazed at him, examining his anatomy. The construct spoke to the new recruit. "OK. Just don't be poking or prodding me around. You can ask Yasinda what happened to the last IT guy who did that." Timothy drew his phaser, and stumbled to the ground. "Please don't kill me man! I have to pay my loans!" "Woah there! It was just a little humor. You fleshies like humor, right? C'mon, laugh! Like this, 'Ha Ha. Ha Ha.'" Timothy got back up and sighed in relief. "So, what's the first task?" "You're the IT Guy. You don't have anything to do unless a problem is presented to you. Hell, the last guy just streamed movies and ate poptarts all day." "Wait, so... I'm aloud to slack around?" "Pretty much. Unless of course someone has a probl-" The robot turned and saw that Timothy had already set up his laptop, and was playing a video game.
"Ice sharks. Carnivorous land worms. Masses of tentacles covered in acid and teeth." Capolla listed off. "It's a big universe, and you all are going to die because of some contrived monstrosity what-ever god you believe decided to spit out." He walked a lap around the room, inspecting each new crewman. "Who here has actual combat experience with xeno-creatures?"
Ah, the Xeno-Creatures, what a great treat. Aizo had studied these creatures before, only the important ones to make sure not to run into. He had done virtual training with them during his time in the military, and was highly intrigued by them. Aizo would say aloud at the door of the room, "Although I have done virtual training simulations with the holographs, I technically have. The holographs still packed the same damage as they would regularly do, and it took a lot to kill the first few with just an assault rifle, and I know the weak points of the few of them that I have gone against."
