Oh boy here we go! Hearth's Warming Eve Spoiler: Episode Synopsis, Don't Click if you want to desperately avoid spoilers!: Synopsis: The six friends are in a play about the founding of Equestria for the Hearth's Warming Eve's holiday pageant. Alternative Synopsis: The six friends are honored to put on Canterlot's most important play of the season, the Hearth's Warming Eve's holiday pageant that illustrates how Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies put aside their differences and founded Equestria. Source 1 Source 2, although it's source is Source 1...SOURCECEPTION! Interestingly, this episode is the thirteenth in production order, but is airing next week as Season 2's eleventh episode. I doubt this will effect continuity since...well...this show hasn't ever had much of a stable timeline, at least when seasons are involved. That being said my headcanon is that they go through all the seasons multiple times through a year...but that's beside the point.
Wired.com has an exclusive clip! Warning: It may be a little spoilery if you don't want to know the premise of the Origin story ahead of time. Watch at your own risk. http://www.wired.com/underwire/2011/12/my-little-pony-holiday-episode/ Enjoy! (or don't, should you so choose. XD)
Not gonna' watch that clip. Not gonna' let myself down. Not gonna' spoil the new, episode~ ...what am i even doing herp derp Anyway, yeah, as tempting as that is, this time I will wait patiently. Still, I hadn't thought to link that--thanks Residual! As for the episode, I'm hyped. I'm still not sure why, but even though I'm always excited for a new episode, I've been a lot more impatient to see this one. I guess I'm interested to learn more about Equestria's history, even if it's just a few details!
OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!!! I absolutely love this episode! I think it's my favourite! It's just so funny!!! And so heartwarming. And And And. Perfect episode. <3 So much love. <3<3
Just watched it, and now I guess the fandom is going to have to come up with a few explanations for things. For example, when Pinkie had the map she said "The Earth is round." This implies that ponies live on the Earth. She could be referring to the earth meaning the ground, but that would be an odd way of describing it "The ground is round."? And who was Twilight's part? Starswirl the Bearded was her teacher so I guess Twilight's part had to be important. Also we now have definitive proof of an army/military/airforce, as Rainbow Dash played Commander Hurricane. Any other thoughts?
Ok everypony, my mind has been blown. I know that after "Lesson Zero" Celestia said that friendship reports were no longer required... But it finally happened. THERE WAS NO FRIENDSHIP REPORT THIS EPISODE!!!
There is a 480p video up. The 720p and 1080p ones are currently rendering.
Apparently Derpy had two scenes, not just the really obvious one at the beginning... So we didn't really find out anything about Celestia and Luna, except they (as far as we've seen) weren't involved in the founding of Equestria. Also, after Equestria was founded, at some point Discord took over, and then Celestia and Luna defeated him and became the new rulers. Unless maybe they were already princesses, Discord somehow usurped them for a while, and then the sisters defeated him. ... What I'm saying is, I hope a future episode has more on Celestia and Luna's backstory, but it's fairly easy to fill in the blanks with what we've learned so far. And when Spike mentioned unicorns were responsible for changing between day and night, I was surprised. I'm guessing a LOT of unicorns working together can move the sun/moon or something, but an alicorn/winged unicorn can perform that spell easily. Speaking of Spike's narration, so-to-speak, I loved the reaction to hi s use of the word "hatred" to describe the conflict between the three tribes. "GAAAAAASP!" "I know, right?" Everypony was great in this episode. Rarity starred as Princess Platinum dat alliteration Rainbow Dash starred as Commander Hurricane (awesome name) Pinkie starred as Chancellor Puddinghead <3 Fluttershy was...um...did we learn her character's name?? woohoo~ Twilight was Clover the Clever, apparently Star Swirl the bearded's student. Fitting! Applejack was..."Cookie"? XD
Wow ! What a wonderful episode to start my holiday ! Pony-theatre is really great, i enjoyed the scene ! The history of the begin of equestria, epic story ! As always, brillant episode, I would not grow tired of watching it again and again.
No, this whole episode was the story of how Pinkie got her cutie mark. 8D Everyone is freaking out over this, but I'm pretty sure they aren't Celestia and Luna. My theory is that the flag was metaphorical, to symbolize the uniting of the three tribes. EDIT: Also, this: Spoiler: spoiler tag'd 'cause it's kinda big
Rainbow Dash refers to Fluttershy as Private Pansy at one point in such a way that is seemed it might actually be her name. Applejack's name was Smart Cookie. Had to watch it twice to catch as much as I have... Have a feeling there is a lot I'll catch as I watch it over in the future!
episode was great I really enjoyed it. lot of pinkie humor And Pinkie really told to CMC's how Equestria was made :derpe: only thing that bugged me on this episode was that one thing that elementofchaos7 mentioned. How are Celestia and Luna on the flag, when Discord was ruling Equestria before Celestia and Luna, but I guess his explanation is legit Also, fact that Rainbow Dash was one that saw that argument over window on end of episode was bad, and give in and said "I'll get it" changed my oppinient of her to the better. I'd expect that from Twilight or Applejack before Rainbow Dash, but she pleasantly surprised me. also, did anypony notice how rocks are important?
heres bit i found of the episode that had me going:" EXPLAIN EPISODE EXPLAIN!" 1. so earthponies dont have any speacial power, the other two tribes are too lazy to do it 2. that while i get it was a play, wouldnt they have armies or scout groups with them for new land invasion/finding? 3.windigoes:so literally the very gods themselves force the tribes into subsmission for no good reason? 4.heart of friendship:you telling me NEVER BEFORE has three peole from different tribes been friends? 5.why werent the windigoes appeared the other times of disharmony we`ve seen? 6.the flag issue, tbh the bit where there surrounded i thought it would be the three people fused with magic to become celestia(meaning the trollestia pit was the pudding commander),and the arguing three into luna, their anger forming her bitterness 7.no discord
