Hey ponies, Virgil T. here. For those of you who've attended, Viperbait, Foxytail and myself host a show on Thursdays that we're calling the Dark Bolts. For now, we're concentrating on the Elements of Harmony and how they reflect our mutual experiences with brony-dom. However, once we're done with that, we will start to look for other content to bring up, expound on and use to give back to the community. For my part, you, the bronys, are what makes Everypony.com special. Your interests, your views, your hardships and your triumphs affect us all! And if we could lend our voices to it, bring it up and out to help you and others, I doubt I'd be going on much of a limb to say we'd be delighted to. So! Here's an opportunity for you to tell me what you think we should talk about in regards to the community. Just reply here with what you think is important to bronys or happening in a manner that affects bronys and we'll work out whether or not we can wrap a show around it. Who knows? Your concerns may just take center stage and help us to give back what the community!
Not sure about the community, but I would like talks on things that still affect us all. Take for example the topic of Feelings...how we manage our feelings surrounding certain situations and how we can focus on positive feelings over negative feelings. Perhaps even going so far as to discuss how to "dodge" negative feelings...? Just a topic I thought would be beneficial
Until further notice, BOLTS will be postponed until personal staff issues are dealt with. They will be back when they are solved, which will hopefully be soon.
Actually, I really like the idea that Bounty suggested. It would be an interesting presentation to talk about the problems people get into with emotions. For what I can contribute, I have my share of stories and experiences with other fandoms. Thank you Bounty
Agreed as well. It's something that I see many bronies having an issue with actually and would be a very interesting subject to get into.
every show needs guess speakers :derpe: why not try to bring people who might have something interesting to say? or at the very least be a joy to have around anyway here's a free topic, there's no denying there are crazy people out there but in a way they were mentally crazy to begin with and just needed a trigger in there brain pressed to do crazy things (such as a few law breaking "incidents" that were "inspired" by the tv show Dexter would be a perfect example of that) so why not talk about triggers for friendly emotions and that sort
> Guest speakers And then I was the best guest speaker. [/sarcasm] On a serious note, grey said he was working on some random gift thing that is a fixed version of when I tried to make a certain shiny thing. Except it didn't the work. Irrelevant, but he might give it during the show or w/e. SHHHHH IT'S A SECRET Except it's not.
I'm happy you would consider it, I realize that there is plenty to talk about the fandom, but not everyone is in every part of the fandom. Would it be safe to presume that if you guys find a spare week you could talk about more issues like this which still affect us all?
*Guest Speakers* Huh...I wonder if I could get Dan Ariely to talk to us. He's the writer of a spectacular book called 'Predictably Irrational,' which is a conversation on personal markets and purchasing behvior.
These broadcasts intriuge me, perhaps it is something to be developed further? Even promoted? Either way I'd love to hear more about it and will try and drop in on a session at some point
I've been thinking this one over a bit, I think you could do something decent with it. The would-be topic is : Assumptions. When you are faced with a situation where boundaries and limitations, or expectations are not explicitly stated. The talk would discuss strategies to break out of this mindset because assumptions are EVIL! With assumptions not only the problem you are faced with becomes more difficult, but you as a person carry the assumptions you unintentionally made earlier with you into other problems...thus destroying whole areas of creativity.
That's a really good idea, Bounty. I could wrap a show around this. I also am toying, solo here, with the idea of having community representatives up on the show to talk about how they feel regarding the site/fandom/life/et al and see if we can crowd source help. Not to put folks Johny-on-the-spot, mind you, but to see if we can give certain ponies the voice they need to illustrate the way ponies around here feel. I've not gotten any feed back from the others, and again we're waiting through a recently strenuous event before we can start back up again. Soon.
