Well, I'm a tad bit embarrassed to say I've hit a major speed bump in the fiction I'm writing. It started out ok, I put out a post for fanfic ideas and my good friend 51m0nn gave me a lot of material to work with. Anyways I started to tweak things here and change things there, and it's looking promising, right? Wrong. I dove head first into a brick wall. I do not know anything about the Changelings, except of course they're shape-shifters that feed on love; their current queen is Chrysalis; they are more-or-less insectoid/equine; and they have holes in their legs, or at least Chrysalis does. So, yeah... could somepony please help me out? With either this and/or fic suggestions? I'd really appreciate such acts of kindness.

    I found these two links here, One os on the actual myth of the changeling, and the other is a little information on the MLP version of the changeling empire. By the sounds of things, they do not have a city or castle, but travel around in a swarm, like bees. Looking for love to devour.

    One thing to take note of is they become much much more powerful when they do consume Love. Just something to keep in mind. They also become tired and weak when they don't get love. Changelings like the element of surprise, often incapacitating victims in green sacs and swapping themselves in the ponies' place.

    :derpe:Thanks! That will help me greatly! Though I found an article telling about the area they're supposed to live in and their kingdom. I was exploring EQD when I stumbled upon a discussion of the 2nd MLP comic from 2-3 weeks ago. One of the members described the Changeling Kingdom in Froud Valley. This information, limited as it was, gave me a setting for the fic. Also, it has been strongly protested that the Changelings are not a hive mind, each one is an individual, ruled by the beautiful, yet terrifying Queen Chrysalis. It was also proven that the Changelings, after gorging themselves on Love are about as strong as a full-grown Alicorn. It was also proven that when deprived of Love for a moderate amount of time, the Changelings are rated to be about as strong as a crippled Earth pony. When they're in desperate need of Love, (like after a vicious battle, barely winning with a lot more than a few scratches) the Changelings appear to be in a near-deathlike state, with heavy, labored, breathing. They can barely stand, requiring aid from a willing pony. There is one definitive female that is known; Chrysalis. Although, a Changeling can alter their organic structure down to the very molecules. It has been reported that a Changeling will kidnap their desired avatar to prevent any "accidents" while they are disguised as them. They put them in pods called Chrysali, (Chrysalis, for one pod) that are usually kept in dark, secluded, quiet underground areas. A Changeling's fangs are used for direct absorption of Love, like a vampire, and they use them for copying the memories of their host, creating a perfect duplicate of the original, though their original emotions stay the same.
