Someone recommended it to me back on a previous forum. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I watched it nonetheless. The first episode I watched was "The Ticket Master", and my first reaction was "Well, it sure is a heckofalot better than most of the other crap shown on TV nowadays." I continued watching several more episodes, and I was pretty much hooked. I eventually ended up downloading every episode and watching them all in order.
Well, I first got curious about MLP after seeing some of the funny images scattered around the internet. I figured, if this many people can enjoy it I might as well see what the fuss was about, so I downloaded season 1. I was hooked @ Fluttershy's intro, I continued to watch every other episode over the next 2 days.
Growing up, I had the typical reaction to My Little Pony as the rest of the kids, thinking it was for little girls and it was girly, and looking at the toys, commercials, and the different generations, I was really not interested at all in seeing the show, or anything. But when I first the the glimpses of the newest generation, it caught my interest a bit. They were different. Much different, I could tell with just a minute of seeing the show that this was a very different show than what I saw and heard of growing up, so I decided, I would give G4 a chance, as from listening and watching what I saw, it wasn't half bad. So, being the open minded person I am, and for my likeness for cute and adorable things, I went to youtube to search the first episode, after remembering to do so a week after I said I would do it, and pressed play. I skeptical from the intro, thinking, "Oh no... This show is just like the rest..." But that all collapsed while watching the show, it finally went to Fluttershy, I was hooked, she was the most adorable thing I've ever seen, loving the shyness and quietness of her, and her care for animals. Fluttershy is ultimately what won me over for this show, but after watching all of the episodes, and up to season 2, I've found a love for each character in each of there own aspects and ways. I'm glad I found this show and gave it a chance. Edit: Oh, also, this is one of the only TV programs I watch on Television anymore.
At first -> Looks cool. OMC, Rainbow Dash is a baws. The show seems interesting, lets watch more episodes. Now -> Awesome!, TwiDash is best ship and my OTP, the show is way better than half of the shift on television, and TwiDash are in a couple episodes! :derpe: Getting MLP Merch, This forum, Customs, Etc...
I remember the first time I heard about it was when I came to school in the mornings and was waiting on one of my friends who I usually talk anime with (I was oblivious to the show at that point btw). by the time he came over all he would ever talk about was MLP this and MLP that, I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. I made fun of him and embarrassed him in front of everyone. By the time I had gotten home I logged on to my computer and went on "know your meme". As I browsed at the list at the top I noticed they had a new research episode based on bronies. I took the time to watch it and was inspired to give it a shot. Once i did it was like magnetism, I couldn't stop watching; I never felt such a rush of excitement and overwhelming cuteness in my life! (and I never did like cute things) now its all I can think about and its the only thing that cheers me up when I'm feeling sad or lost
I started watching just before season two started. Long after the ponies took over the internet, all the while I was confused as to what all the hype was. My outlook on the whole thing was "why are all these people clambering over ponies, and not some other cartoon like Adventure Time?" Then in tech school a friend of mine sat down and told me that he had found a site to watch My Little Pony. I raised a brow said what the heck and watched with him. It was Gryphon Brush Off, and sense then I couldn't brush off how much I enjoyed the show.
I liked it from the beginning. Although I was not used to the new poneys' physical characteristics. I admit I watched a lot of episodes from the 80s MLP show.
I have for a long time been a frequent viewer of most shows on http://thatguywiththeglasses.com and I happened to see a review of the show, which made me curious. I must admit that I used to watch G1 back in kindergarden with my sister and I felt guilty about it even back then. This is why I greatly enjoyed CR's retrospective on the MLP franchise, and then it came to G4, I was suprised he liked it so much. The first thing I noticed about it was that the animation looked gorgeous, I decided to check it out. My initial reaction was that it was quite a decent series, but it did not seem to be anything spectacular, still, I could not stop watching. With more episodes, as I got to know the characters better, they grew on me. I even started to really like Rarity who I (foolishly enough) thought would be a major pain at the start. I do not think the show has a single character I don't like. My original favorite was Twilight Sparkle, but Rainbow Dash quickly caught my eye. Now of course I absolutly adore the series and consider it probably my favorite cartoon of all time.
The first time i saw ponies, was on memebase. The hilarous pictures gave me want to watch the show. I thought that I was going to watch it for nothing. Honestly, it needed me only one episode to love MLP. Ditto.
When i first watched it back in 2010 of November, i never kept my hopes high for this show where it stands today as the best thing to happen on the internet. I first saw a episode appear on youtube and me loving cartoons and my curiosity for it, I watched the first episode and and as i sat down watching the show, i was like, " This is good for a show for girls." Cliff hanger hits. Awwwwwww. I looked up the second episode which was part 2 of the first and sat down to watch, cause the show dragged me in for what the ending was. Boy what a great introduction for a show like this. I was really looking for the third one and lucky i found it the next day. i watched it. I was latterly watching this is secretive at this point, cause i thought it was awesome. as weeks go by, I see more of these episodes posted on youtube and finding out males my age are watching this. I was really shock to see that males my age really loving the show and i thought i was really the one male watching this. I didn't hear the term "brony" till early December, after that, i named my self a brony and proud of it. Now over a year of being a brony. I'm no longer secretive about it and my friends know and some are one's them selves. Long live Bronyism!
I seen a reaction video on youtube, so I thought I'd watch it just for a joke, I was expecting the show I watched when I was like 2/3 years old, but I was blown away by the epicness of it! I have sine then turned My little Brother and one of my Besties in to Bronies!
