You're more than welcome to your opinion, but you're not welcome to invalidate the opinions of others as just being cry babies. There are plenty of reasons to dislike the show. And I'm going to continue this in it's own thread...
I see more that people were mad because Kevin Smith lied to them about He-Man being a main character in it. Watch the preview clips they made and tell me you don't think it's going to be about He-Man.
Barring that, I haven't been paying too much attention to shows in a while. So this new Masters of the Universe is news to me.
It was billed as a continuation of Filmation He-Man, if and when that billing changed I missed it. It is not a continuation of Filmation He-man. It is a hodgepodge of various He-man lore and it just fits together so poorly it takes three episodes to get watch able. Because I was under the misconception it was a continuation of Filmation every time they got something wrong I'd pause in frustration. Pre-ternia has never been heaven, it was the Past. It wasn't even in Filmation it's from the toyline. Sub-Ternia isn't hell, it's just an underground world, I don't recall it being in Filmation either.
I'm not talking about people who have legitimate reasons to dislike the show. You explained your reasons and they're perfectly legitimate, even if I do disagree with your overall assessment. The people I'm talking about are the same type of people who scream about the Star Wars sequels for sexist and racist reasons, as opposed to the crappy writing and directing. I enjoyed the new series, and I'm looking forward to the next part. I understand why you didn't.
I haven't seen people complain about it being bad for the kind of reasons your saying. Most are mad about the bait and switch, or just the mishandling of the charters. Clownfish said the show would be about Teela and Smith said no it won't. We get the show and it's about Teela. Teela and Duncan don't seem as strong of character as they used to be.
Teela's lost faith in what she was fighting for, and Duncan's getting old. Remember the first episode was supposed to be his retirement. I just hope Adam heals fast, because I'd love to see an Iron Man 2 type of situation where he has to prove he can be a hero without his powers. But, like, done better than Iron Man 2 was.
Whatever the case may be, it was my understanding that this discussion was going to be taken elsewhere...?
I had never seen that before. That was amazing! And great casting in it too. It's the live action one I never knew I wanted...
