Ok.... Erm, quite hard to do on MovieMaker. My After effects and Premiere Pro're f***** for some reason, and now editing is 100x slower than normal... Though, MovieMaker is 100x faster than After effects (Take that, adobe, for making it LAG so much). EDIT: It seems i'll need to first download all the episodes in 1080p quality, then reinstall my After effects and Premiere pro, download the trailer of Lord of the Rings sound (Yes, I'm doing that), and restart doing it. Movie Maker keeps crashing for no reason. Sorry guys, and I'm really sorry that I went through this crap, but doing this in Movie Maker is impossible, at least for my version. I'll restart tomorrow by doing it on After effects and Premiere Pro. Those are real editing programs, not like this... disgrace to the human kind created by Microsoft. Those... those... I have no words for such... *mindblow*. /ragequit
Movie maker is a huge pain to use so I understand ya Especially if it's the new crap "live" movie maker (which the only benefit to using is that it can export in HD)
You can download the real movie make for win7/vista just google it, live is a joke. I have a bit of free time I'll try and think of something/s to improve activity/site appeal. EDIT: Now I've been thinking... Posting is a problem. Now there are ways to 'invite' people to post, but will it cause spam? =\ Balance is essential!
That's not what I had in my mind, but yes that is a possibility. I was looking more at 'rewards' for posting. Something for people to work towards, like rep it's often all that's needed for people to motivate people. Achievements? Post x and get x, get x and go x or x and x get you x etc. Money for posting? You can actually mod Vb so you can sell 'privileges' - like avatar size, user title editability - usergroup/access to forums/chat (and functions). I'm not suggesting we do any of the above, just giving you an idea or two of the options we have. But there is a fine balance between post encouragement and spam inducing and I most certainly don't want a COD-like forum where people feel under privileged or pressured to post.
Well we should definitely disregard options like providing avatar size and that sort of thing, it'd just created feelings of elitism and encourage spam as you said. Idk about achievements either, that just motivates spam as you said. One thing that could be interesting though is that sort of varietable post tracking thing Jaret suggested when we were discussing the implications of marks, where it tracks where you post and how much you post in certain sections and formulates a sort of "talent" thing or something depending on where you've posted the much and such (maybe have it change your user title dependent on where you post and how much you've posted), though that'd probably be difficult to incorperate
Nevertheless I'll look into it asap! Only thing is I don't think it'd encourage people to post, just be cool to have.
Hmmmmm well what if you integrated the rep system with post count? Like acquiring more posts also boosts your reputation count, or changes the color of your gems or something You could do this: -Rep = the types of gems -Post Count = the color of the gems It could be like: -Grey = small post count -Orange = medium -Yellow = fairly large -Blue = large -White = very large -Black = huge -Rainbow = godly

LBPC uses the system to buy upgrades and whatnot. They also implemented exp into the site. You get so much for posting, but none for welcoming (Don't need people spamming every time someone joins). I would think they do the buying option so they save on space. Like they reward the people that have been on longer. But uh.... They say the mods there are a bit elitist... Not sure why. Then again, the mods are "always elitist". It's like a code or something. Just brainstorms: How about a ratio? Compare number of posts to number thanked. But then you'd have to find that ratio to even things out... Or base it on activity. If you're more active it stays high, but less active, it stays low... But then you could probably spam to keep it high... Maybe, every time you post, it goes up. But every "insert time" it goes down. Then you can keep it from going down based on the number of thanks... Anything you do that encourages posting, I think will encourage spamming. This is only something I just thought of... lol... It's very "forgot word"... You can have a report button, a thank button, and a annoying button. The annoying button isn't as bad as the report button, but then you could use it in a ratio or something.
