Applejack - something to do with the Apple family. Sweetie Belle - singing. Scootaloo - Extreme/Gymnastics/Dancing or something like that. I think they'll get them around the same time, and I think that it'll not be before... let's say, a lot of time passes by. Lauren wants to keep them in the series as the Cutie Mark Crusaders as long as possible.
^Applejack already has a cutie mark silly anyway, I agree for Sweetie Bell ,and Scootoaloo. Apple Bloom: interior and exterior design maybe. something related. I think they will discover around same time, maybe even together.
Applebloom would probably break the Apple family tradition and get a cutie mark related to arts-and-crafts. Sweetie Belle (the best CMC) will get one related to singing and Scootaloo will get one related to sports or athletics. However, I don't think they'll get them until much later, like when the show ends...like that'll ever happen....
All three ponies at the same time, of course. In the last episode of second or third season. But I don't know what cutie marks. Let's be patient!
I agree with you about Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, I can see the latter with a microphone like the one that Spike uses. As for Scootaloo, I'd say let's wait until her wings are large and strong enough to enable her to fly beyond a better jump. There might be an episode about Scootaloo and starting to fly at some point in the future. That much I'm sure about: Unlike most other pegasi, her cutie mark will have nothing to do with weather.
Applebloom was a good designer and artist. So she will have something to do with fashion. A spool of thread or a paintbrush. Scootaloo was good at stunts and choreography, so uh...... a Chuck Norris I guess. Sweetybell, was a good singer. So she would have a microphone or something.
I love CMC as the annoying little kids wanting to be big kids they are. Anyways...talents simplified as much as possible. I think they'll try and keep the CMC cutie mark-less for a while. I think it would only be resolved in the last series, to tie the story up. I mean, with cutie marks, what would be left of their characters? Would they still be the CMC? Though it would be interesting to see if they grew up into adult ponies, just to see how the team would go about developing their characters while still separating them from the multitude of other ponies in the show by keeping them unique.
The thing is, the Cutie-Mark Crusaders are based around that concept of children finding who they want to be. It's a bit of a catch 22, where they can't just find their cutie marks and end that story, because there's nowhere to go from there, yet they also can't drag it out for too long without making it a tad boring. I am curious as to what they will do with the CMC this season, especially their relationships with the rest of the cast. Sweetie Belle and Rarity is something I'd like to see expanded upon, as it seemed to be all about the Apple family last time around.
Yeah, Apple Bloom had a lot of screen time last season. She was introduced a fair few episodes before the other Cutie Mark Crusaders, so you could say she's the most developed. I think the ties between Rarity and Sweety Belle should definitely be developed. As of the moment, aside from a few scenes, you wouldn't actually realise that they were even related. I think an entire episode based around the two of them becoming closer through some kind of challenging situation (dragon, monster attack, usual plot devices for pony cartoons) would be a worthwhile episode to watch. If there isn't an episode like that done already, I hope that they've got one planned for season three!
I think there's a stark contrast between how the writers went with Apple Bloom and how they went with Sweetie Belle. Apple Bloom seems desperate to tear away from her family and become something new, while Sweetie Belle is on the opposite end of the spectrum and wants to do her sister proud, looking up to her slightly more openly than Apple Bloom does to Applejack. Scootaloo, I'm clueless. Very open ended, and could go a lot of different ways, although I'm sure it has something to do with Rainbow Dash. here's a lot of directions you could go with that, and a lot of morals involving hero's and idols that appeal to children.
To me, Scootaloo seems to be very shallow. Perhaps more insecure than shallow. I would expect her to be the one to try the cigarette first, when trying to hang out with Rainbow Dash. If you get what I mean. Her false tough attitude seems forced, and at times I don't get what she's really aiming for in life. If it's just thrills, then she's going to quickly run out of things to do. And then what? Does she go into sewing, or charity work or something? Perhaps. Can't wait for season three to roll on.
Eh, Scootaloo's character grinds me. She's got the kind of personality that comletely clashes with what I find entertaining. Don't get me wrong, the show would be lesser without her, and she does compliment the trio of fillies, but that doesn't mean I have to like her. As you said, she just seems really shallow. Yes, there is a lot that can be done with her character, and yes her backstory can be filled in all sorts of colours, but she's somewhat predictable. You know all she wants to do is seem cool infront of everyone, and to show off. Perhaps it's the length of time that has passed since I've watched season one, but that is definitely the recollection I have of Scootaloo.

i couldent agree more. the cutie mark crusaders are really annoying in my opinion. i always skip episodes that revolve around them. i wish they would hurry up and get their cutie marks so no more episodes are made about them.
