I like the fact that it isn't annoying. A lots of cartoons are just throwing in as much crap and annoying sounds they can.

Hmm I actually started on an infamous little story called cupcakes. I like the grimdark stories and had a friend suggest this one to me however I was annoyed since it was based on MLP and I hadn't watched the show. So I watched it for some backstory and since I saw the Fan base had made quite a few grimdark stories. After that I started to expand to other kinds of fanfics and then music / art. I saw a post someone had put up of Flutterguy singing Pinkie's song. Seeing how that was the greatest thing ever on the internet I looked into it more and haven't been able to stop since. Not that I ever want to stop either.
I am 100% shocked I did not encounter the fandom at all during WoW, or rather the great majority of my days on Vindictus and LoL. I saw the pony pictures all over the LoL forums, especially by the mods and devs. "Mods are asleep; Post ponies!" They were absolutely hilarious in facial expressions and text lines. After seeing one of these threads for about the 3rd time (started by none other than Morello himself), I spent the next 4-5 nights watching Season 1. I practically fell in love with the show's acute detail in bringing the animation to life--something virtually no other cartoon does. Also, I pretty much fell in love with Nightmare Moon's badassery and the show's heart warming lessons and good will. Innocent is the best word, I guess.
i was walking in the store and when i went past the toy section a toy pony got loose and ponykaped me then posioned my mind with pony.... SO MUCH PONY!!!!!
I thought the first few episode were good, but nothing special about them. Although, I did like episode 4 enough to watch more of the series. However, like I said before, I didn't consider myself a brony until I finished watching episode 6.
I encountered it all through Youtube related videos. The first MLP:FIM video I saw was here being related to the original Robot Chicken sketch. from there I watched a few more videos based on movie trailers with MLP footage. After that, I said screw it, and started watching small clips of the show thanks to people such as kyrospawn. I had been watching them for days, thinking watching them was quite normal but didn't dare watch any of the episodes. And then probably about a month and a bit ago, I started watching the series. I found the first few a bit "eehh". Not so great. But since I saw clips of the other episodes which I really enjoyed watching (especially fluttershy), I continued knowing they would be better, and then loved it from then on. AFAIK, 2 RL people know about my brony-ness. I had no idea about bronies or anything of the kind until I started watching the short clips, and seeing how many guys were posting about how much they love the show.
I, too, first noticed them on memebase, but at first, I just said, "Oh My Little Pony has a new series, huh? God preserve us everyone!" But the more I looked, the more I liked the art. Then I stumbled across this video from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfu_Zn5zkX4 And, I don't know - something just clicked. The art work. Rainbow Dash being awesome. The Sonic Rainboom (of course, I didn't know what it was, then). Although, that did give me the odd impression that Pinkie was the bad guy on the show. And I started looking up other videos, and was impressed with them all. So, I said, "I guess I better check out this series. By an amazing coincidence, that was on June 21st - Summer Sun Celebration. And I haven't looked back since. I did, by the way, think Rainbow Dash was the lone boy pony for the first two episodes. With Episode 3, I suddenly went, "Wait - RD is a girl!?" Not her tom-boyishness, really, just her voice sounded a bit masculine. Anyone else think that?
It is very popular on another forum I go to. I also looked at youtube poops of it before hand. And then one day I decided to watch an episode one night and found it quite good.
I noticed it around the internet, then I noticed on the Minecraft Forums Suggestions sub-forum (I used to hang around there commenting on flaws 'n' stuff) that a guy who also used to comment on suggestions had a picture of Twilight as their avatar. I got curious, and looked into it. TA DA!
A lot of my friends were into the show, and I'd been seeing ponies EVERYWHERE around the internet. So I decided to watch a few episodes on YouTube. Just to see what all the fuss was about. Ended up watching most of the first season that first night, haha.
