Yeah, so moving on from the things-we-should-not-look-at and backtracking, I do wanna mention why I liked One Last Parade, and normally would just go edit buuuuuut edit's always been wonky for me here and I kinda wanna keep current. Nutshell, it's agoreous picture and I absolutely love the senitment-even though it's built on something of a bitter idea, everything about it is celebratory and evokes a great sense of warmth. One detail I realized the night I posted it up here is that there's something representing each of the other mane six around Twilight, and it's stuff like that and more that just makes it an incredibly heart-warming idea of a life well lived. Oh, and Pinkie Pie's showing her immortal face in the background. That's always fun.
I look at his art every once in a while. It was discussed here on this forum and that's how I found it. I haven't looked in a while, but it's very creepy/disturbing, but that doesn't mean it's not exquisite. I especially like the Rarity picture, but his art is really dark and creepy. I have a standalone folder for him with a warning attached. Someone drew a picture of the final scene in Spark (the Epilogue chapter), the one that crushed my soul harder than Of Mares & Magic did. Seeing it was... saddening. That fic got me into writing, as well.
He was for months my inspiration. His dark and creepy art appealed to me no end, and I still have that 2 mouthed Celestia as my wallpaper (and will continue to do so). I still follow him on tumblr, and like you I have a designated Crookedtrees art folder. I've just lost respect for the man after months of following his personal blog, and at the same time less of his art cuts me as it used to. We'll see where his art goes after he gets out of this art block. As for now, I have a new favourite artist. His name is Ventious, and he is so under appreciated. He has a similar amount of pageviews than me, which given his talent is just ridiculous. I can't recommend him enough. Here are some examples of his work. The only real reason I dislike Crooked is because of the amount of detail he puts into his work. I'm one to like cartoon-ish work, not lifelike stuff. Now, this is to do with gaming, but I once read that you play a game to get away from reality, not to stay as close to reality as possible (referring to the retro/CoD-like games debate). Why can't this quote apply to art, too? How am I still bad at structuring my English?
