I think the answer is in that highlight. Why you play games or why you like art is absolutely up to you. There is no right way, best way, most intelligent way or morally correct way to do it, it's absolutely indifferent. Some like art to project a new reality, and thus as realistic as impossible. For me, I like to fully immerse myself in a piece, and therefore detail is crucial. In no way do I criticize other's for likeing cartoon pieces and for different reasons, I can only give reasons as to why I personally don't like it. Besides, to address your 'escaping from reality' point, I do enjoy art for that very reason; to escape or augment/distort realit.y I personally get bored by images that could easily be recreated by a camera. Instead, by adding tremendous amounts of detail into an image that has no real life counterpart, it's like bringing the impossible to life. It's hard to convey, but that's roughly why I like art like that.
Art is subjective. I explained some of my visions with art. I will use a picture and explain ways I can interpret it: (Artwork by Kloudmutt--file not labeled--Chose something open ended, but avoided Crappyunicorn's art because of bias and established interpretations.) I see a pained expression of sadness, notably of regret, displayed by the brows. The helmet is cracked; I see it as empty struggles or hollow victories. Our imagination is just what it is. Gaming breathes into us a whole new world to see. Art is a piece of imagination to me. Games are like art, viewing what many artists can put together in light of one's imagination. It's like building off of one idea and evolving it into something larger.
Eeyup, that's Bayonetta alright. and Twilight the White Rainbow Dash and Katamari Damacy Fluttershy and Applejack, I dunno.
Sorry don't know too, but i just notice the blinker on Applejack. Spoiler: Nightmare Moon stuff Love the last one ^^
I have just about every Nightmare Moon picture. I'll post some more pictures later. I honestly used a lot of Doctor Whooves and Celestia for OCs.
I honestly enjoy pairing Twilight with the princesses, Trixie, or Rarity. As far as pictures go, Twixie is probably the most I have, followed by Twilestia.
I openly admit, shipping in general always causes a shiver to go up and down my spine. To each their own though. That particular picture of Rainbow and Pinkie is pretty damn cool because, in all hoensty, it's just the two of them chilling in preperation for a concert. That's pretty cool actually. It's nice and warm.
Wat gives dudebro. And pixel has all the AppleDash. All of them. Plus a lot Twixie. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
