Even if this is never stickied, it will, and should, be revived as needed. Even if it becomes something like a support group, it'll still be a great thread.
Aye, But I'm not the one who dictates which threads become stickied. Nor do I know how such decisions are made. I just guess they're arbitrarily made by the staff. As a side note, I don't think the general chat thread needs to be stickied; It's permanently stuck on the first page anyway.
Where there is Fear there will be understanding. Fear is based off being afraid of the unknown. Here we work to get rid of that fear and promote understanding and tolerance. Granted this sort of thing might not be your cup of tea, but then again, if you can learn one thing from this thread then this thread has done whats its suppose to do.
