I wouldn't be afraid to show me being a brony in general public, like wearing shirts or buying toys. But at school, it is a complete secret.
Well, I don't have much of a problem with going into a store and buying pony stuff. How often did I carry one or more blind bags (up to five at once) out of a drugstore. Then again, I'm about twice as old as the average brony, so even without any rings on my fingers, people can still believe I'm buying stuff for a niece or so. I mean, I would have a Carousel Boutique here if I knew where to put it. The balloon at least. As for wearing MLP:FiM stuff in public, all I've done so far is take a Crystal Rainbow Dash with me to a brony meet. (Yes, I've got five Crystal Pony keychains here, two of which are for wearing.) Rainbow Dash always dresses in style. *ducks and covers* Eeeyup. Especially because they're harder to hide than a blind bag for example. And because they're always girlier than your average toys.
Blind Bags may come over to the US, but so far we have just the basic "blind bag" set at Toys R Us. (Mane 6 + 6 Recolors.) I just have too much merch. (Merch link in my sig.)
It took me a while, but now I can wear pony stuff, and even bring ponies to school. Of course, I've waited until after hours to pull them out (I stay after for clubs and such), but tons of people see them. It's just something I've grown acustomed to.
I really want to be an open brony everywhere. But I'm too afraid to be open about it in school I guess. Two of my close friends know, and that's it. My school is VERY small, same goes with the community, and I fear that if I become open, everyone would hate me. Such is life in today's society... I don't live in a big city, so it's much harder to 'escape' from haters. Everyone in town would know... and I don't really want that.
I can understand that. My school has >2,000 kids in it, so with me it's not as big of a deal... I hope you can work towards being more open. It's nice experience. I dance awkwardly in public. Maybe that's why I could do it.
Hey, no need to rush such things. When you feel you're ready to be open, then open up. No one will force you to. If you do open up and haters get on you, just put your foot down and take a stand. They'll back down.
Thanks Pixel. I think I may wait until college. Much different setting and people are more mature about things.
Pixel and I are totally open bronies. Just whenever you feel like you want to be open, be open. It's just simple. Can't wait until classes start next week so I can wear my hoodie and even more shirts! :derpe:
I did a bunch of hair fixing today on a bunch of basic ponies I got for Christmas. All the main 6, plus the CMCs, and Cherliee. Here's a small pic. And A link to the full size - taken with my phone.
is there really such a thing if so i'd be happy to take some off your hands for you (lol but i don't think that's what you were getting at)
At Toys R Us, they set the "Pony Collection Set" (Mane 6 Blind Bags + 6 Recolors.) As for the actual "blind bags", I'm not even sure if they really will come. Who knows. I have plenty of merch.
First piece of merch (and apparently my only piece :derpe was the Dumb Fabric shirt, which i bought back in the summertime
My first, and only, merch is a McDonalds Rainbow Dash given to me by one of my brony friends. I haven't gotten anything else, but I really wish I could buy some.
at the moment, I got 66% of the Mane 6 and Pink Celestia, just yesterday got my Fluttershy, now I'm waiting some time to get the CMC's and Cheerilee (looks like it's year's hot toy) and I'm considering seriously to get the Fashion mane 6 and the other small brush able figures.
I kinda want fashion style Rainbow Dash. Also, I'm almost finished modifying my small Twilight, Rainbow, Applejack, and Fluttershy brushables. I'll post pics once their hair turns out. I got a blue hoodie with her cutie mark on it. HOODIE TWINS! /brohoof
