The most ironic thing happened at my school a few weeks back. I'm sure every school has one of these. One of those lunch deans or whatever you call them. They are there during your lunch period, and sort of act like deans. To make a long story short, we have this one really mean guy. He don't take crap from no one. So as one day during the lunch period, the people decide to be nice and turn on the Television for us (Yes, we have TVs in our cafeteria). As a joke, they turned to channel 22 (Which is the Hub in my area), and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic just happened to be on, by chance. Alot of people's inner brony came out, but more about that later. So, everyone is deeply interested in the show, and we start talking about it. Then, the mean lunch dean came around and asked us if we actually enjoyed this show. He seemed angry. As a joke, I said: "We will love and tolerate the crap out of you." Then, he went on a rant about how the show is for little girls, and the tv was turned off. A week later, the lunch dean was fired for hitting some kid. Good for him, too. ____________________________ Discuss.
I don't think "Dean" is the correct term here, but regardless, I wonder if the hitting that kid had anything to do with his dislike of MLP, seems too coincidental.
Personally, I think that any faculty member of a school should be fired for hitting a child. They can do their job just fine without compromising the safety a school is SUPPOSED to have... A teacher at my school was fired for making inappropriate comments at students, and was fired. While, I thought he was an amazing teacher, his comments were out of hand and the actions taken against him were necessary.
Yes, he should. I don't know why he would hate the show, but the most likley reason I could think of is our school itself. The school itself has about 80% boys or so, and we commonly make jokes about how GrAY it is. Maybe the dean thinks we are just another bunch of FrAGS, but we will never know for sure.
A Dean is the head of the faculty, a high position in a school system. This person wasn't a dean, more of a monitor of the cafeteria, my school has them too.
i wish they would play mlp on the T.V.s at my school they purchased 3 50 inch T.V.s for each lunchroom (my school has 2) and several more through out the halls this was done last year for the student news, but that program was canceled this year so they just gather dust a grand way to blow a budget don't you think and I agree that the staff member mentioned earlier did deserve to be fired for hitting a student I once had a teacher who had a mental meltdown in class and started flipping tables and throwing chairs through the windows poor guy he was a nice teacher aside from the whole meltdown it's just shameful what people will do
My school has literally thousands of massive TVs. Do you know what they use them for? Advertising the school. An absolute waste.
In my school there is a senior lounge, which has a TV. My first class is a study hall at 8am, so I could watch MLP, but there are others in the lounge as well, and everyday they watch the sports channel ugh.
0_0 Well, All I can say is. A. I'm jelly of your TV's. B. I'm Jelly of your school having so many inner bronies. C. Who does that guy think he is blaming students for enjoying a show? It's like the Janitors at my brother's School, They think they got some sort of power or something. >.>
My school has one (or possibly 2) old 90's TV's. TASTE THAT! And I'm very very jelly at you right now.
My school has a ton of TV's, which we don't use anymore because they got projectors a while ago, which we don't use much because they have these "Smart Board" things that they can hook up to a computer. We also got a second football field (turf) last year. Long story short, my school likes wasting money, because guess what? We don't have air conditioning. Or nice bathrooms. And our auditorium is falling apart. I'm not sure what the priorities of our administration is, but it sure isn't the well-being of its students. Also, my school has Deans. They're not always so bad, except when they keep us students from having any fun, which is whenever we're within thirty feet of each other.
Disgusting behavior on the monitors part. All my teachers are really nice and approachable, some more than others however. We don't have a cafeteria at all. We have a canteen where we can buy all sorts of food, but everyone just sits/plays anywhere around the school, but majority are on either back or front fields. We got those old as bricks known as T.V.s used for all sorts of things. In classics we watch movies like 300 or Troy. It would be awesome to have MLP coming up in school/college/tech, to see how many others will react positively towards it. Might make some more friends like that :derpe:
Well, My School has Flatscreen TV's, But they're only used for information.. Why cares about information? SHOW US ZE PONIES! >:I
How did you get a tv in school at lunch? That's awesome! Have you had it turned back onto the Hub since 'The Incident'? How great would it be if that ended up being an everyday thing, middle of the school day and get to watch MLP while relaxing at lunch... /I'm totally jelly.
We're trying to at the moment. The deans didn't believe that My Little Pony airs on the same time every day, so I printed a sheet showing the show listing of the Hub for the last week or so. And as for a new dean, we got a female, in her 30's or so. She's alot nicer than that other guy, and has that "don't give a crap but in a good way" attitude.
I'm pretty sure that if something like that happened at my school, everypony would be like 'omg change teh channel i dont wanna catch the gay'.
