We didn't have ponies when I was in school... T.T But I lived in the most wannabe-gangster school ever. I'm pretty sure "education" was a word most of the students were incapable of comprehending, let alone what Friendship is Magic could represent.
Same, unfortunately. So many wannabe gangsters in my school as well. They find it funny to pick on others and ruin things for everyone else. They have no respect for learning, or anything for that matter. They haven't the slightest idea what friendship us.
Reminds me of my High school Days. I Seem to be one of the few that cared for my education. Passed with a 3.3 but i was so close for my honors if i gotten to 3.5. Oh well. Any way, i wish my College would put on MLP:FiM. Man, i wish they put on it on so i can spot out any possible bronies in my College. I can't be the only one in my school. Everyschool has at least one brony.
We had a guy like that at my school. Just a mean dude because he just wanted to be. Someone call him scuba steve one day and he lost all respect or whatever. No body was scared of him anymore. He quit. LOLZ As for your guy, I'm glad he's fired, people like him don't belong in schools.
I, for one, care severely about my education. With a 3.9 GPA, I think I want to keep it that way. I'm #2 in the school, currently, right behind Jessica Stoner. And yes, her last name is Stoner and she has a 3.92 GPA. We're best friends, practically.
Yeah I use an education system called NCEA. Not Achieved. Achieved. Merit. Excellence. Its a stupid system, and even the most of the teachers hate it lol
I don't feel a general education had anything more to offer my interests. I like studying things I enjoy, and Algebra, though critical to many things, was not something that was directly relevant to many of my interests. I was never one to take to higher mathematics. Ultimately, I aced anything with words--Biology, various simplistic sciences, History, Civics & Economics, Geography, Music appreciation. My lack of artistic talent hurt my art grade since I had no motivation back in those days. As much as I loathe poetry and writing in general, I've always excelled at it.
Well, that was uncalled for, punishing students for not sharing their own tastes. Bad form. Still, I saw a couple of opening where you could have trolled the hack out of him. We have a couple of widescreen TVs in our lunchroom, but all they do is display the same Powerpoint about nutrition. I was thinking of changing that and sneaking in a few episodes and re-configuring the computer connected to it to automatically play them throughout the day as part of a grander senior prank toward the end of the year. Don't know if I'll execute that plan, but it's an interesting concept, and would be useful as an experiment to gauge the reactions of people spontaneously exposed to ponies.
Goodness, this makes me feel old. We didn't have tv's in school, and I graduated from High School. a year before the *original* MLP came on TV. And - we had to walk five miles through the snow uphill both ways to school! And we were beaten to death every night! . . . And now I'm just being ridiculous. Seriously, glad the dean (or whatever) got the boot - no one should lay a hand on anyone else, except in self-defense. I don't understand school administrators, teachers, janitors or anyone at the school not liking children/kids/young adults. If you don't like them, why'd you take the job?! I never had a teacher or anyone strike me at school, but I had some bad, bad, bad teachers. Ah, well. Hope you turn your entire school into bronies - then rename your school Equestria HS!
Glad you got someone nicer! Maybe she's a secret brony too... I guess mine were pretty relaxed when I was in High School. I remember calling a few of them by their first name.
That's the System they use in Kindergarten and Elementary. lol >.> If that´d happen... I´d sell all my stuffs to move to the US. Because that'd look awesome on my e.g. Curriculum vitae.
your story just made me lol. Everyone gets into the spirit and then some mean dude trys too hard. No denial there. Awesome school day. :3 Some one should've recorded that event.
He... hit a kid? What a jerk! Well, glad you're rid of him. He doesn't seem very friendly, from what you've said of him. More attention should really be paid to how staff treat kids in school, to prevent this sort of thing happening... We used to have a dinner lady who used to force kids to eat discarded food from the bin. We were about 5-6, so we didn't argue... She also used to nick our chocolate bars Saying that "they're not healthy for our lunches", and would eat them herself. Dunno why we didn't say anything, but I think the headmistress found out eventually. :3 Can't remember her hitting kids though. That's just plain no.
Same here: they run the same promo video on a loop every day, occasionally interspersed with 'inspiring speeches' from the headmaster. Guy loves to run his mouth.
Sounds awesome, I wish my school had such an relaxed atmosphere that people would dare to react positively when suddenly exposed to MLP. But eeenope. Here we have the nerdy boys, the 'tough' boys, the wannabe tough boys, the socially awkwards (me), the mean girls, and fortunately also some nice girls. I also know a few 'be yourself/nerdy' type of people I hang out with. These are the kind of cool people that might spawn bronies. I wish I knew more. :derpe:
