Ah, I see. Well, there really is no need to come up with another option for males, because brony fits both the "bro-pony" origin. If females dislike the idea of being referred to as a brony knowing that "bro" is implied, then Pegasister is a perfectly fine alternative. Although when stating it in public, to avoid confusion, brony would be fine as non-fans have probably never heard of "Pegasister". But fan to fan, Pegasister is a good alternative.
