The only thing causing hostility between forums is threads like these.

I'm seeing nothing in this post that could be construed as having a bad tone and I pretty much agree whole heartedly with it.

From what I gather, people didn't like this forum, so they made a new one. That's a bit much, and not an integral foundation for a website to be built on. I don't even get what's not to like here, but that's just me I guess.

Hmm. 'Concern Trolling' does to come mind when I look at this thread. I hope I'm wrong.

Upon further inspection of the comment, I must agree. His tone is fine, and it's 100% justified. Whee~

I agree. A better alternative would have been to at least discuss what is not being liked here versus just leaving and then blurting out "Oh by the way, we made a new forum." I don't know, maybe I should stop talking before I make people angry.

Sorry, but even saying 'leaving' a forum is something I find hard to take seriously. You're not leaving a hometown for Christ's sake, you're not regularly posting on a website. So much drama.

I wish this website all the best through the difficulties any site encounters, but any users bringing up drama, I will remind you that you are sitting at a computer complaining about what other people are doing behind their computers. I'm not naming anyone (because I genuinely don't know anyone doing it), but I advise those who are to chill out and go practice perfecting grilled ham and cheese sandwiches or something else like, super useful.

I'm on both Forums, I also enjoy both forums.
And I must be honest that I have been fairly ignorant towards the apparent hostilities, I don't really know the origins of this, and I think this thread seems to be stirring the pot further. I suggest a closure.
FiM:U and EP is and always will be an opportunity to meet new people, and that's what I use forums for. The fact that I joined FiM:U was in no way in spite of EP, and just so my recent absence is explained, it's exams. :I

I agree. For those that are not involved, like myself, we should stay out of it. Every time a problem has people not involved joining it, it is blown out of proportion. Requesting a lock so this doesn't happen. <3 both forums.

I fail to see why problems have/can arrise in this situation.

I'll quote myself from FiM:U "IT'S THE INTERNET OLOLOLLLOLOLLOL"

I have to agree with Derpy here. These sorts of threads cause hostility, and ignorance is bliss.

Well I think this thread has been drawn out long enough. I think a close may be in order. Make your comments now because my last one will be the last for the thread!

    One last question.
Is this going to be left in the past?
I don't feel the need to reiterate the pointlessness of this whole situation. :p
    Looking forward to the lock.

^ I shall start off by saying I agree with these three posts above, and not just because they're fellow staff members...

    >_>
    <_<

But seriously, that's not the reason.

Even though I may have not personally worded it this way, I must agree with this as well. Except the last part, because I never joined FIM:U, and I have no intentions of doing so.

I was going to try to keep it brief, but you guys know I fail at doing that, but here it is anyway:

The way I see it is simple. FIM:U's conception was the result of a few members that weren't happy with how things were running here. Although it pains me to learn of this, it pains me even more to see that we didn't seem approachable enough. By that, I mean it saddens me to see that those responsible for creating that site didn't come to us to talk about their issues instead of running off and creating another site, but oh well. Being a member of Everypony is hardly compulsory. You have every right to choose which community you wish to be in, whether it be EP, FIM:U, both or neither. There is no obligatory loyalty. When you signed up to either site, you didn't sign a binding contract saying you had to be loyal to one of the sites. Not to mention there are probably tens of hundreds of other brony sites out there.

I understand the perspective of members varies, but I'm going to offer my own personal opinion. Bear in mind, what I'm about to say has nothing to do with my staff position, nor does it represent the views of any of the staff members here at Everypony. This is my own view alone. I am only representing myself in what I have to say:

To be honest, I do get a sense of betrayal, but that may be because I do have a sense of loyalty to Everypony. I know it's not required. In fact, I was told specifically by another staff member that it wasn't required. Yes, I am a bit passionate about the issue, which, unfortunately a couple of people have had the unfortunate displeasure of seeing my passionate side as it were. Sorry about that. Anyway, allow me to explain why I feel that I should be loyal to Everypony. Keep in mind, this is my view, and my view alone. It doesn't reflect the views of anyone else except me, and I do not expect, nor in any way intend to convince, members to try to conform to my ideas.

    This is the only brony community I am a part of. My interactions with the brony community up to this point have been limited to the mediums of the Everypony forums, Everypony Radio and Skype. This community has given so much to me;

    - It has provided me with the opportunity to discuss MLP:FiM with others.
    - It has given me the opportunity to make many great friends.
    - It has opened my mind to trying new things that I've never even considered before.
    - It has open my heart to the prospect of being in love with the same gender.

I was even provided the opportunity to serve this community as a community officer, which I am very proud of. Even now, I still only think I got it because of the members here. For you guys supporting me. For praising me. It was you that helped me get noticed. I could never ever have done it on my own. In short, this community has given me so much, and even continues to do so. So I have no intentions on turning my back on this community. As I said from the start, there is no obligatory loyalty. I choose to have Rainbow Dash's element of loyalty. So, yeah, I will be quite frank, I am a bit upset that some people don't like it here, and I'm even more upset that we didn't seem approachable enough from the get-go. I can only speak for myself, but, as I said when I first was appointed, "If you ever have any issues, even if they include myself, by all means, send me a private message." I still hold onto that value even now.

Yes, there have been some bad things too. I've had a couple of good friendships end (not necessarily related to this), and some former friendships rekindled, but such is life. Friends come and go. If you're wondering why I'm even posting this, it's because I think it's only fair that I reveal the reasons for the way I act in certain situations. I'm not infallible. Just my 2 really large bits again. Don't you just love those? ;)

    Perhaps,
But I'll going to just make a nudge to the fact that
I run FiMU because it's a challenge, it's something new, and it's something I enjoy.
    No other reason is necessary.
I love what I do there, tinkering with HTML, making the thing shinier,
Even working with the infernal CSS.

Heck, I haven't even left EP,
I just not haven't the time to post as much,
It having been stretched by posting on and managing another forum,
And the time I spent chatting with the new friends I've made over Skype.
    I still enjoy posting here.

This is all just starting to sound like redundant bickering,
That just keeps going in circles.
(As a fault of both sides, I will admit)
I'm not seeing one side of any of the arguments that is distinctly wrong,
Thus both sides have their merit.
Perhaps we could simply end this,
Frankly, I'm not seeing it as going very far,
Unless we just want to start getting on each others' nerves.

Maybe we could just end this discussion,
    And go about our lives and routines;
    Like ePONY said,

I'll just close with something of point of view:
I owe little loyalty to a forum, doesn't matter which forum.
The only loyalty I have is towards my friends and towards community.
The medium of conversation doesn't matter all too much to me.
Because at the end of the day,
People and community can requite your loyalty.
    Text files cannot. =P

From my posts in the other thread, I had already established the fact that not the entire community was there because they felt EP was terrible.

Don't get the wrong Idea. I'm fairly sure that people enjoy both communities should they frequent both.

The majority of the people are there for what it is, a forum. Nothing more, nothing less. Heck, some of the members haven't even been on this website before.
