ah yes, Spike/Rarity affair. personally I hope they got together, now that Prince Blueblood is out of the way he might have chance (even with age difference)
Eh, I can't honestly see Spike and Rarity together. At least from the shows perspective. Now from the fans perspective, well, that's a little different of course. Spike has that "puppy love" type of love I think. It's cute. <3 Spike can be a fun character though. He's got a kinda snerky attitude and he like's to poke fun and joke around. He's part comedy relief and part voice of reason when he needs to be.
Silly testyal1, Spike's not a foal. He's a baby dragon. Outside of any of the mane six, Spike is my favorite character. He's actually the first character I liked when I started watching the show. I think he's a cool character and pretty funny. The whole Rarity/Spike thing is amusing, but I personally wouldn't want to see them together only because of the age difference. Spike is just too young in my opinion. Also, I don't know how interspecies relationships are viewed in the eyes of other Ponyvillians (Note: Just for the record, this is not meant to be taken the wrong way. I'm talking platonically). I was pleased to see that he had an episode that focused on him (Owl's Well That Ends Well). It's actually one of my personal favorites because before I saw this episode, I wondered if he'd ever get his own. Here's one of my favorite Spike moments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw0E67i5Wqs&t=37s
I think the only time I kind of disliked Spike was in Winter Wrap-Up when he was putting Twilight down on four occasions during the episode: 1.) Saying the nest she made needed to be condemned 2.) Saying the same nest looked like an outhouse 3.) Saying she was a "natural... disater!" when she failed at skating 4.) Laughing at her when Applejack yelled at her for using magic I mean, ouch! Talk about harsh, man! Other than those four times, Spike is an alright character.
Next to Fluttershy, he's my favourite character in the clan. ^^ Y'know, he's the kind of guy I can relate to! In a way.
Spike is spiky. He is a boy in love with a woman. I wonder how fans would react if it was a girl in love with a man. Or a man in love with a girl. But of course boys in love with women is fair game, because we all know how boys are...Xd \:}
Am I the only human on the world who believes in that Spike is really in love with Rarity and Rarity will love Spike too? I like Spike. His sarcastic comments to things that are happening are funny... And he is great assistant for Twilight Sparkle. He is always at the bright side of the Force.
*points to my 2nd post on these topic* yes, I do think they may end up together since Blueblood is now out of Rarity's mind. also,I think only issue would be age difference, that will be easy to get over since they are already friends and they don't seem to mind being friend despite the age. Different species? well I would like to point out 2 examples: Gilda=Griffin=mix of eagle and lion. clearly healthy. also remember kids from Donkey and Dragon in Shrek franchise?
I kiiiinda like spike. At first I detested him because of his horribly unoriginal name (my little sister would name everything- EVERYTHING- animal like "Spike" or "Matt" (mostly the former) and was consistently obsessed for YEARS. Eventually I grew to like him-ish. His thing for Rarity got annoying, along with several of the things he said or did. But regardless, I kinda like him. I pitied him in the situation with the owl, though. I can understand how he felt, silly as it was.
Absolutely no! This owl tried to steal his place as first Twilight Sparkle's assistant! Sorry, I didn't notice that (or I noticed but i forgot after few seconds ). Sorry.
I have always liked Spike as a character overall. I just wish he was able to do a lot more than just be Twilight's workhorse. I personally think that she works him too hard. I mean, he just passes out half the time, wonder why that is? The relationship between Twilight and Spike really intriges me. I've always thought those two were closer than they looked. I've read two fanfics in the past that Twilight was the only mother-like figure he's ever known. I'll post those fanfics in the fanfic section. I once dreampt of a fanfic that Spike helped the Elements of Harmony defeat the reincarnation of Nightmare Moon by finding the Sacred Dragon Sword, which holds a legendary power of ancient dragons before him. It would also turn out there would be a hidden 7th element that would be needed to take down this form of Nightmare Moon, and surprisingly, the element would accept Spike as the Element of Friendship, since there is a little bit of all six Elements of Harmony inside of him. They combine their power to take down Nightmare Moon for good. That may be the dumbest idea ever, but I'm ok with that. It's fun to dream! It's basically a MLP tie in with Legend of Zelda:OoT I'm honestly not sure what to think of Spike's crush on Rarity. I thought it was cute at first, but part of me thinks that Rarity is kind of using his crush to her advantage. I mean, she has to know SOMEthing. Nobody's that naive! Since the prince didn't work out for Rarity, this gives Spike much needed hope. lol BTW, am I the only one who wants to listen to hear Spike sing? Maybe have his own part in a song or sing a personal song on how he wishes he knew what his true purpose is? I feel sorry for him. He never really gets to do anything exciting. There should definitely be more to him than being Twilight's personal mailbox.
If Spikey sheds a tear in season 2, most probably I'll do the same. I'm becoming more and more sympathetic for him.
You have to figure he's going through something internally. I think eventually he wants to know if his family is still alive. If not, I can see him shedding some tears. I know I would. Spike would feel like he's all alone with no family. I mean, could the writers give us an episode to show Spike trying to find out his family's whereabouts? Would you watch that? I mean, come on. He never gets to do ANYTHING except be Twilight's servant and the other ponies handyman.
Well, for me spike has kinda of been hit and miss. I like that he pokes fun at the ponies on occasion, but on the other hoof, he sometimes goes a little far like skydancer1993 said. As for Spike/Rarity, I doubt it will ever happen, but don't get me wrong I'd like to see it. I'd like to see spike break out of the mold of just being Twilight's servant assistant.
I'd like to see an episode where we see how it all began between Twilight and Spike. Yeah, Twi hatched him, but how long exactly has he been Twilight's assistant? And are they more than just co-workers to each other? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rxoXeD9TXDvJaxhr-VLH43G-YnlxrB5EA180nyuaUJE/edit?hl=en_US IF there was an episode similar to this fanfic, it would be my favorite episode ever!
Spike went from being an early favorite for me, to a character that is just kind of there. I originally liked him for being a cute and funny character, but the CMCs kind of replaced him in the aspect, doing the same things but doing them better IMO (for good or for worse, LOL). Even after they took over his role for me, Spike was still a good voice of reason character for the most part, but even that seemed to go away in Owl's Well That Ends Well when he flipped out. As for the Spike x Rarity thing, I think they need to make an episode out of it, where Spike confronts her about his feelings. Diamond Dogs almost gets there, but never actually does. Then again, maybe she already knows about it, but doesn't take him seriously.
