Updates to be found here: http://ukofequestria.co.uk/threads/nottingham-brony-meet-up-7th-april-2012-tbc.200/ [copy and pasted] Nottingham Brony Meet-up If confirmed, here are the details explaining the meet. Where: Old Market Square, South Parade, Nottingham - NG1 2DT. When: 7th April 2012 (this date may be moved to suit preparation and/or to take in other date suggestions if necessary). Time for meet-up not yet confirmed (please message Merriweather and suggest the best times to suit you). What: These are the main details that have been decided so far. The events need to be organised properly, but as of now, they are only in the idea stage. Here are the ideas (more than one can happen in a day depending on the time the meet starts). Event Ideas: - Cinema (group decision so that everyone is happy) - Pony raids (2 shopping centres in Nottingham, please message Merri if problems need to be raised) - Meal (so far, this is going to be a “bring your own money” addition. This may be removed if everyone is satisfied for food. - Starbucks break (Just an idea, depending on numbers) - Get to know each other (name labels and the lark) Please, ideas are welcomed and needed. We don’t want it boring for y’all! Now, onto the boring part… Rules:- I want this meet to be fun, but organised. Once a time is specified, please don’t be too late. I’m going to set a waiting time of 30 minutes if you have got stuck in traffic and such. If you are unfortunately running later than this, we will be in Nottingham all day, we won’t be far from the meeting point. If any inconveniences occur, call: 07783 668456 –Merriweather. I trust you with the number, please, do not abuse it. - Cosplay is welcomed, clothes are needed. So no public indecencies please… - Be respectful to everyone and have fun. This goes without saying, you’re bronies, right? - Finally, bring money. This is my first meet, and being my age doesn’t reel in the cash, and I can only do so much. Once the events are confirmed, prices and money information will be provided. That’s all! Be sure to keep up-to-date with this thread to watch for updates on the possible changes. Thanks, Merri. PM me if you need any more details or my email.
Oh man, 5 days before my birthday! I'll see if I can make it, but I think I was going to Thorpe Park around then, and I'm not sure how far it is. Still, sounds like a lot of fun!
The date isn't setting stone, I'm off for 2 weeks 30th March - 16th April. Any dates between then (apart from 31st) are perfectly within reason, I wan't to shape it around the community, so everyone's happy.
I'd love to come, but it's a bit far for me. I'll check my calendar and talk to my dad about getting a lift up there, but no promises.
Yeah, sorry about that. I won't ever be able to go to London meets unless some miracle work is involved, so I guess this time, we've swapped. :derpe:
Well, I'll check back here again once I know about what's going on closer the time. It's nice to see that meets are planned so far ahead.
Test, from where I'm standing it looks like it'll only take you half an hour on the train to get there. Or an hour in the car, and... 11 hours if you walk.
I'm going to be honest, Test. You were actually in mind when the motivation of doing this was in full swing, as Lincoln isn't too far away as opposed to London. I remember we both tried to make our way to Dec 17th... :/ Still, I hope you can come, the more the... *sunglasses* ...Merrier. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH.
Because of my crazy OCD of checking prices of stuff even when it's unlikely, I found that the best deal is £10.30. Now THAT is good.
Indeed, better than good. I took the train to Hereford a couple of years ago to visit a mate and it set me back nearly £35. I say go for it.
Bumpy time! Luckily, this happens to be slap bang in the middle of two weeks I have off from school Things are looking up, I can seriously think about attending now. But... Train tickets seem to be upwards of £50. Eep.
After the mess that was the meetup on the 17th I'd strongly advise booking a venue of some kind... Groups of us parading round town centres just doesn't work and tends to attract the wrong kind of attention. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Ah, thanks for the input. I was thinking about venues, but then I thought about price. I wasn't even expecting as many possible attendants in two days. ._. (now 20 possibles) I know what you mean, and I have the time to organise, so I'll look around. I was prepared to burn a hole through my pocket anyway.
*UPDATE BUMP (Important for those attending and not on UKofE)* Numbers are now at: Possible: 36 Confirmed: 21 With more coming in! This is shaping up to be a hefty meet in size, so the more the merrier! Again, ideas have been stated and more are to be welcomed for suggestion. I shall put a poll up on UKofE soon to vote for the venue. To keep updated, go to the website linked in the OP. *IMPORTANT* Confirmation is needed ASAP, so that I can close the gap between possibles and confirmed. With a smaller gap, I can organise easier without worrying about more or less turning up. Thanks!
Huzzah! Cheap train tickets have been found! No way I'm missing this.
If I can stay over a friends house for that weekend, they'll gladly drop me off in Nottingham. Going to a brony meet-up, I don't believe it!
