Rainbow is best Pegasus Trixie is best unicorn Diamond Tiara is best earth pony I first liked Dash because of the fact I like rainbows. It grew though. I love her attitude. As far as Trixie, it's the same thing, I love her attitude. I like Diamond Tiara because even if the show makes her out to be mean. I think is good at heart. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I'd like to see an episode that showed Diamond Tiara as a nicer pony. I don't think she's a bad pony, per se, but rather one of those prissy types. You know, the popular ones who have it all (which she seems to) and treat others as inferior (which she seems to). But hey, a valuable addition to the show nonetheless. I would like to see Trixie again, actually, and maybe in a better light, too. Again, she wasn't one of my favorites because her boasting went into the realm of purposely offending others as opposed to just raising her own esteem. I guess that's where I find her different from Rainbow in the sense of their pride.
I blame bad parenting for Tiaras behavior. As for Trixie, I bet she has good in her heart. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Mmhmm. I believe that for most ponies, and people, too. They just act in certain ways or were raised in certain ways that I find reprehensible.
Haha, I'm just kidding about the freak thing. Although I do like to act goofy around my friends to make them laugh. :derpe:
Favorite character? It has to be Discord. I adore his demented, twisted personality as well as his design. So awesome! But as for favorite pony, i'm not 100% sure, but i'd lean towards Twilight. I feel I can relate to her more than the other characters. Granted, I love the others, but it seems like Twilight would be the most interesting to hangout with. That's just my two cents.
Pinkie is my favourite because I can relate to her. She had strict parents, she worked in the family business and she has a crazy, fun side when she'd with her friends. That's me in a nutshell. I also like Luna, as I am the more neglected younger sibling.
B-Dog, I don't suppose you accidentally start speaking old-timey English now and again? Because that would be an awfully wonderful coincidence. lol You know, BeepBeepBoop and all others who are reading, despite being the antagonist, Discord actually was a pretty cool character. I mean, he was subtly malicious and absolutely devious, messing with the ponies and changing the environment how he did. His personality was not what I was expecting from the spirit of disharmony, but at the same time it made sense. On to Pinkie Pie, 'cause I think it's kinda fun discussing the characters...Probably why I'm posting in this topic. Anyway, admittedly, sometimes she does annoy me with her always-playful--and usually outrageously so--personality, and I'm not always a fan of when characters have oddly-proportioned gesticulation or crying in cartoons. That's what I get for watching too many live-action shows before starting to watch MLP lol But every pony bugs me now and then. Most of the time, Pinkie Pie is an interesting character to watch. Her joviality, while sometimes what annoys me, can definitely be appreciated, and I like the contrast between her personality and character background. Coming from the family she did, it's nice to see how drastically someone can change, especially when for the better. Princess Luna, in my opinion, is rather cute. Granted, she doesn't mean to be, but her character design does the job for her. On top of that, her ignorance in matters of friendship and fun, as well as her tendency to speak as though in the olden days with a booming voice and a stereotypically royal language, makes her all the better. I sort of wish I could have seen Nightmare Moon as a more developed and drawn-out antagonist, but I understand her purpose in the first two episodes (unlike some of my friends) and accept the fact.
Hi Magic_al! Welcome to our herd! I'd say you may commence posting when you feel like it, but it looks like you're well on your way - although this wasn't the best place for this thread, methinks. But no mod's moved it, so what do I know? Any who, I'd have to cheat and say - All ponies are my favorite ponies - even that one way in the background that never has any lines and just stands there.
Huh...I actually forgot that this was in the introduction thread. And I'm guilty of assisting in its progression. Oops. But a good topic nonetheless!
Oh Celestia this picked up a lot more momentum than I was expecting! Alright, going one at a time: Rarity. Admittedly, when the show began I didn't like her at all, due to being the drama queen, and the biggest callback to the older generations of ponies, but she eventually proved to be a case of the 'don't judge books by covers' trope, what with excellent episodes and development in 'Suited for Success', 'A Dog and Pony Show', and 'The Sweet, and Elite'. While I can't say she's one of my favorites, I certainly like her a lot more than I once did. Trixie. I can certainly dig the 'not a bad person' route, because, admittedly, while she did go a bit overboard in showboating, it was overall Spike, Snips, and Snails who caused the main trouble in that episode. I would love to see her show up again in a more positive light. Diamond Tiara. Well this is a first! I've never seen anyone say they liked her before, but whatever. In her debut episode, I hated her (as the show wanted me to), but I can certainly see your argument in 'not as bad as made out to be.' Although, at least from what we've seen of him, Filthy Rich didn't seem so bad a guy, so I'm not sure about the bad parenting bit. Discord. I loved Discord! He was a creative villain, and his strategies were certainly devious! I doubt we'll be seeing more of him, what with being encased in stone, and all, but it would be nice. Awsmebrony. Sorry again for not replying to you in the actual forum. It seemed too late to go back to Macintosh with the Rainbow Dash discussion. I love Big Macintosh! He hasn't been developed much, but hopefully we'll see more of him soon....Especially with the Valentines Day Episode coming up. The episode description says he's going to be a key part of it. Pinkie Pie. Pinkie is definitely a funny character. Not to mention that the show seems to be trying to develop her more as a character than an excuse for off the wall hilarity. "And that's how Equestria was made!" Luna. Despite only showing up at the end of the pilot, she looked awesome back in season one! I think it would be intriguing if it turned out that she wasn't in control as Nightmare Moon, but 'Nightmare Night' suggests otherwise.... @Mike Lol, I was kind of joking too, but you never know.... @Dwynter 0_0......Sorry.....I simply thought it would be a good subject for introducing myself, and meeting other members.....
Whoa, whoa! Don't sweat it - you didn't do anything wrong that I know of. If you had, I'm sure a mod would have said something. And I'd say you were right - you've got four pages so far. Don't listen to me, let's carry on as long as we can!
Alright then! I just didn't want to, y'know do something wrong, what with first board, and everything. Yes! May the discussion continue!
Woah! An introduction with a character discussion?! My moderator-training did not prepare me for this... This wasn't in the training manual at all! *Throws book out the window and kicks a door down in frustration* YOU BROKE THE RULES!!! YOU BROKE THE RULES!!! I can't work under these conditions. I'm outta here! FYI: I'm kidding. It's okay as long as it doesn't turn into a substitute for a character discussion thread in the long-term. ^_^ Hold on a sec, let me ask Sweetie Belle (my dictionary)... She says that "Best Pony" is spelled P-I-N-K-I-E P-I-E. I'm pretty confident that she'd know. Although, it is odd she didn't mention her sister. Maybe they're still having some sibling-related issues. Pfft. The best earth pony is clearly... ...Ah, forget it. You know who I'm going to say anyway. Well, Magic_al, if you didn't guess by now, my favorite character is indeed Pinkie Pie. It actually didn't start that way. Originally Spike was my favorite character, then it switched to Fluttershy, then it ultimately switched to Pinkie Pie. In the beginning I found her antics to be a little annoying, but then I grew to love them. Now whenever I see her on screen it makes me happy. I just like how she's so cheerful in almost every situation, but despite this, she can take things seriously too. Her mission in life is to make everypony smile and be happy, which can be quite the challenge sometimes. Imagine trying to take upon a task like that IRL? Seems rather daunting, doesn't it? So I give her props for that, and she always manages to make me smile as well. ^^ Oh yeah, before I forget, welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here at Everypony!
Thank You ePONYmous! That really means a lot! Yeah, Pinkie Pie is pretty awesome! Initially, I didn't enjoy the random acts of singing, but as with everything in this show, she grew on me. I also totally understand switching favorites in the beginning. I always knew that Applejack and Fluttershy were going to be my two favorites (Fluttershy for being the kind, animal care-taker, who, CAN take action if the situation REALLY calls for it), but other than that, my list constantly fluctuated. At first Twilight was third, then Rainbow, Pinkie, and then Rarity. But, as mentioned before, later episodes, and development came into play, and BOOM! I now have no set order, liking all of them equally now. (Except A.J., and Fluttershy are still slightly higher up than the rest....)
