In terms of character appearences. BESIDES Vinyl Scratch.( Or Derpy, for that matter.) I think Soarin' is pretty awesome. There's also been a discouraging lack of Fluttershy episodes lately. *Cough Cough* *Wink*.
I'm going to have to go with Princess Luna. I may be a little biased though Sure she's been in 3 episodes (which isn't a lot really anyway) but when you think about it she didn't really have much screen time in the first two episodes, they were more focused on the mane six's adventures and relationships. I guess this is more opinion then anything but I consider Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon to be two separate characters, and when you look at how much you see of the actual Princess Luna it's really not a lot at all. Now she did get a whole episode for herself, , which is more than a lot of others get, even Princess Celestia hasn't really had her own episode but she's always popping up from time to time, which isn't the case for Princess Luna. So she's not really under appreciated in the same way as Vinyl Scratch or Derpy but I don't see Luna as a background pony like the others. For me she's up there with the ranks of Celestia and should be treated as such, she doesn't need another episode for herself, just to be included in future episodes.
Yeah, I can agree with that. Background ponies like that (such as Luna) Need a little more screen time. Like I said before, i like Soarin' and i would like a little more info about the Wonderbolts than "the greatest flyers in all of Equastria".
If we talk about all the ponies in general, I have to say Soarin and Spitfire. That is in regards to the shows use and not the fans use. Show wise though, I'd say Spike, he may not be a pony, but they never do anything with him. *note that I haven't seen secret to my excess yet.
Has Scootaloo had her own episode yet? The other Cutie Markers had episodes centering around them :/ LET'S GET A CHICKEN EPISODE XD
I have to agree about Luna. Her exposure has barely been more than Derpys, yet she's still a mane character. She may not be one of the mane 6, but neither is spike or Princess Celestia. In fact I think Luna is more of a mane character than either Big Mac or Granny Smith, yet both of them have had way more exposure than Luna.
Kinda off topic but, what's up with Scootaloo chicken stuff, anyone care to explain? I've obviously missed something somewhere...
I agree SR. What's up with all these people picking on the poor chicken? I mean, it's not like it's her fault! Sometimes it just really bugs me.
Well, in the stare master, the other crusaders teases Scootaloo by calling her a chicken, which is probably the origin of that. [youtube]bu54kU0ebqE[/youtube] I do agree, Luna needs more screentime, but I am starting to think, we reason we barely see her must be that she is nocturnal. By definition, her and Celestia are never awake at the same time.

Fluttershy needs an episode this season. Also Luna seems to be completely forgotten in most episodes even though she's royalty.
