I couldn't agree more. That's what I meant by good forces moving in the world. More and more bad stuff is happening, and now the governments are even trying to controll our very lives with bills like these. But even now more and more people are waking up, refusing to be blinded any longer, to see what's truly important. Love, care, tolerance, and freedom. Just take a look at the brony community. It's coming to an inevitable clash. But it's just impossible dictators, fuelled by fear and greed only, can stay in power forever. That's why I still have hope, no, even a semi-optimistic outlook on the situation in the world. I think a new age is dawning. From here on, things will slowly start to improve. And once it's been started, there's no stopping it. Because love has the same snowball-effect that hate has. But where hate is empty and meaningless, love is strong and constructive. Ultimately every human wants to be a part of love, whether they realize it or not.
Hooray! I knew it wouldn't be long before some other douchebags fail at ruining the internet. I doubt that they'll get passed. The internet's too large a force if they were to block it.
I'm probably going to participate in a demonstration here in Gothenburg, Sweden at Saturday against ACTA, and at the same time hopefully meet up with other bronies for the first time!
Thank god, seems we have a really good and critical politician here in sweden who has a blog and everything about what we need to do to stop ACTA, it's in swedish though, so no point in sharing it.
It is demoralizing. It seems like no matter how much we knock these back, they are just going to keep rewriting it and trying to pass it over and over until we give up. I fought hard agaist SOPA, I cbf anymore. It's like a never ending war.
since this is worst then Sopa, I think the internet should do another blackout, but 3 days long this time. As bored as it would make me I think it would be amazing if facebook joined in.
Hey Guys I just received an email from Avaaz! Here is a snippet: "Amazing! Over a million signers and the lead Parliamentarian on ACTA has resigned. Now's the time to pile on the pressure and bury the treaty -- forward this email to everyone you know" This could be the break we were waiting for, though we cant celebrate yet. It still has a chance but now so do we!
I got that too, They said time to pile on the pressure. I hope this thing gets buried and never comes back.
This may be the final push. I mean what more can the government do to try take away freedom?...actually forget I said that. So long as we win this battle I'm sure we will protect our freedom for a little while longer before the next attack.
I got an email that the campaign to stop this caused the main supporter in the British parliament to drop it. It isn't completely over yet. If this is the final boss then we scored a critical hit.
So far we got 1500-2000 who's confirmed that they are going to protest against ACTA at Saturday, but it's probably more. *squee!*s going down.
Well 1000-2000 people are still a lot. More than enough to crowd the streets. Where are you protesting by the way?
At Götaplatsen in Gothenburg, 12.00-18.00. I just heard that the citizens in Stockholm is going to do the same! I don't know how many, but I bet they are even more than us! :3
There are no protests here...hmm Time to start one then...lol My dad would never let me. I've done all I can here now. Good luck with the protests!
