What's your biggest pony pet peeve? Here's mine: I hate it When people dress as a gijinka'd Rainbow Dash and wear knee-high rainbow socks. Why? Rainbow dash is athletic, socks up to her friggin' thighs would get in the way. Also, every other RBD cosplayer wears rainbow socks. BE CREATIVE, GUYS. Anyway, post your pet peeves! Pony cosplay related, or just pony related in general.
Actually, you'd be surprised. Judging by the way RD claims that she's the fastest flyer in all of Equestria one would assume that her real life comparison would be that she is a runner. I run Track and Cross country myself, and at just about every meet there are loads of people wearing knee high socks; almost half of which are rainbow colored. I've even done this myself (Yes, with the rainbow socks), sometimes it gets really cold before a race and wearing them really warms up your calves allowing you to run much faster without fear of injury and use less energy during the warmup. Also, it's pretty *squee!*ing awesome passing by somebody while kicking up dirt with your amazing multi-colored socks. A pet peeve of mine though? Extremely loud chewers. Just being able to hear the food sloshing around in their mouth as they're talking makes me absolutely angry. People who attempt any form of communication with me are usually met with a blank stare as I hold myself back.
One pony pet peeve I have would be people that make alicorn OC. Then ironically I made one by accident. She was supposed to be in my lantern fan fic, then got her own and now she sits in my mind, Uncreated. Oh well, in the words of the great ross scott. Not my problem. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
People that make gratuitously overemphasized Or simple lather on too much body language onto Their speech. You're not a seagull. Stop flapping your arms around. As for a pony related pet peeve? People who put antlers onto their pony creator OC. It's a pony. Learn to genetics. I know you're at full liberty to do so, But it just makes me think really odd thoughts Involving deer and ponies. lol Technically, a RD cosplayer should wear long blue socks to portray her legs. But anyway, one of my pet peeves is arrogance. I don't like when people think they're all that, especially when it negatively affects others.
Heh, yeah, I can agree to that, too, 'specially in the roleplaying sense. I try to keep myself in check.
Which is why I never finished making mine when I idea came up. I'll probably at somepoint finish it. I just want to point out she came as a way to fit into the fan fic. The fic was worked on about a week, then failed. I just realized I love Nyx, an OC alicorn. I'm bad at this. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I'm in one now, but it's my first. Well, see, I'm generally more okay with Mary Sues/Gary Stus if I don't have to deal with them being perfect (like in a roleplaying situation). It makes sense to me. lol Well, I believe there are exceptions to pretty much everything. I wouldn't say all alicorns are immediately awful.
In fanfics, I cannot stand "everypony" replacing everyone/everybody outside of dialogue. Also, humans in Equestria just seems so out of place, but I did read "R Lee Ermey in Ponyville" just because of how ridiculous it sounded. SyrinKitty mentions that these types of characters shouldn't be considered bad if the story they're in is good. I don't fully grasp the concept, but I have never come across another alicorn story beyond my own writing. Now, with more potentially appearing in canon, it makes you wonder about their plausibility in general.
Mary-sues don't bother me as long as they are labeled correctly- like in fanfiction or in galleries. Other than that, I hate when people ruin creative, interesting oc's with their own, crappy, all powerful, alicorn, ass kicking, element wearing, ninja assassin pony oc's that are just to frikkin good at everything. Interesting characters have flaws (being clumbsy or having a bad temper is so overused too) and have to learn to overcome them but mary-sue's don't; which is why they are boring. Everyone loves them and they are good at everything, which is just plain annoying. I hate when people make there oc's to frikkin bright and busy in the design; like they use to many colors and patterns, horn, antlers and etc, frikkin mural of a cutie mark. I think mary-sues (and fanfictions) have there place in fiction though and can offer a chance for new writers to express themselves comfortably before moving onto more challenging writing and possibly even original work. My pet peeves in real life are; people who are ignorant but seem to be proud of it or people who claim to be non-judgemental but are the biggest judges of others (mostly, extremely religious people fall into this category), people who bite down on silverware and people who are rude or say disrespectful things and claim it as freedom of speech. I'm pretty forgiving of minor irritants though.
I got another, people that make there OC overpowed. What I mean by that is giving them super strength/speed or other absurd powers. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Regular pet peeves: *When people say something vague, or even just interesting, and when you say "Oh?" to ask for more details they just say "Yeah" and leave it at that. It's like... Uhm. When someone says "Oh?" They are saying "You have piqued my curiosity good Sir/Madam. Please tell me more of this subject!" *People who post vague statuses on Facebook and then when people ask what's wrong or whatever, they just say "I don't want to talk about it." If you didn't want to talk about it, then why did you post it on Facebook where ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS CAN SEE IT? =P As far as pony peeves go, I don't have any. Yet. =P
I think anyone that cosplays is a good thing, even if it is a bit off. Now really fat guys in tights, thats just nasty. Anyway I guess the one thing that bothers me from the fandom woud be when I talk to someone and we both find out each other are bronys, then the other guy wants to start talking about clopping and stuff. I'm a brony not a furry or into bestiality. If you like that stuff, fine, but keep it to yourself. You give bronys like me a bad name.
I'm with you there, bro. I'm not out of the stable yet because my best friend thinks all bronys are furries. I'm not a furry, I just like the show! D:
