and a tangent Your-Belonging to the person or thing the speaker is addressing You're-A contraction of "You are"
Some words I have heard some people at school say: Splelps: Splendid Indubitably: Unquestionable Wench: A lower class woman Facetious: Treating serious issues with inappropriate humour Poo-head: An insult
Brilliant! A lot of sesquipedalianism in here Floccinaucinihilipilification - The action or habit of estimating something as worthless. I had a few others, but I've got presque vu now, so I'll finish with that. Presque vu - I can't find a definition but it's known as tip of the tongue.
Several colloquial words I have picked up from the "chav dialect": Par - To insult someone or to use someone's disadvantage against them in an verbal argument. Hench/Wench - Someone who has muscular body and/or fit and healthy. Fam - Used to address those close to oneself. Don/Swaggadon - 1. A term used to describe someone of higher status amongst a group. 2. A compliment. Has the same meaning as "great" or "awesome". Yannoe - A poorly written/typed/said contraction of "You know". My my, how I dislike the colloquialism of the British language, it doesn't make anything easier.
I can actually spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Learned it one day when I was bored in Middle School.
Monotonous: Tedious and not very varied. IE: It gets monotonous watching Cars and/or Up every time I babysit my nephew. I will also leave this here, since there/their/their and your/you're have been covered: Affect: The influence of something. Effect: What the influence is. IE: The affect of a punch to the face is pain, while the effect of a punch to the face is a really wicked shiner.
I disagree. 'Affect' is a verb, 'Effect' is a noun. "The poor sales of butter really affected the shop" "The effect of these poor sales means they have to shut down"
