Ach! That sort of thing could ruin everyone's name! Now I'm not homophobic or anything, but same-sex relationships is about the last thing I'd want to see. Think of the uproar it would cause! MAD Magazine can play around with it if they want to do a parody, but please, not in the actual show! However, putting them in socks.... I dunno, what does that symbolise? And while I'm here, there could be a bit more balance in male characters. Decent, mild-mannered ones! As it is, there's only Braeburn and the Doctor.... hm, who else...? Ecch! I could go on and on about this! Ranting is one of my stronger points.
FrankT: You can rant all the way you want. I think I just did that, tough not knowing it while posting. I am surprised I wasn't banned or suspended yet for making such an agressive post. Basically, it's suicide to hate homo couples in any fandom, because disliking them or something close to girl-on-girl action (in this case) means you're homophobic. However, I think there's a limit between fandom references and fandom fetish. Since the latter seems more popular, I highly doubt and disagree that bronies should be acknowlegded: like some (almost all?) of the producers and such, I think it's both nasty and creepy to put underwear in ponies. I already find it gross with humans, and we SO don't need some weird, sick fetish in a little girls cartoon.
I'm just hoping the guys over at the animation studio aren't in over their heads about seriously putting in heavy nods to the fandom. I mean, shouldn't they probably just try and ignore the fact that we have ponies in underwear and RD & AJ getting it on in the latter's barn? I think it'd do us all better if they did that, yeah.
PastoR.oF.PonieS: I believe Faust herself browses and checks DA once in a while for cute (and well-made) pony fanart, but she doesn't bother looking at Equestria Daily drawing threads.
I hope bronies are not mentioned or referenced outside of small promotional things like the recent "Equestria Girls" spot. The show would be just a bit too weird. I would like to see a few more normal male ponies though.

A few occasional subtle references and shout-outs [e.g., Derpy, the 'Equestria Girls' and 'There's A Pony for That' videos, making a few fan names of BG charries canon] would be awesome, but it's the light-hearted and innocent nature of the show that gives it its charm, so I would hope they stay focused towards their target market instead of us.
while i do belive making nods to all subclutures of the fanbase would be good as long as they dont distrct from the main show i dont mind,though i have to ask one thing: what is with the socks! is there something speacial to them,i keep hearing people talk about them with the ponies everywhere
It was a fan-fiction someone wrote. It exploded and everyone started drawing the characters in socks. I think it'd be quite funny to put a reference to that in the show.
I hope they keep season 2 as relative to the first season as possible. I'm sure they're having many discussions about this. I'm not really sure why I fell in love with the show. I guess it just makes me feel....warm-hearted.

I don't want to see Hasbro take a decision like, "So we can't draw those little girls away from Disney, but those bronies are the ones that fill our pockets, so let's target MLP at bronies and go all Adult Swim!" And I'd like them to integrate only those of our ideas that don't go too far. Make certain frequently used names (especially those without alternatives) canon. Make Ditzy a mailmare. But do not make her a complete retard. And pleeze give her a few more lines of dialogue so that we see that she thinks of other things than muffins as well. But who :Boo: is it that buys their toys? Besides, any ship, het or slash, bears the danger of making the show jump the shark. One more thing to consider: It's often difficult to integrate fan theories into canon. Who knows if these theories come from a certain fanfic? Those who work on the show are explicitly forbidden to read fanfic in order to keep them from taking inspiration from it and thereby stealing from the fanfic writer. Yes, I know that the fanfic writers among us steal from them, but the difference is that they sell their stuff as in make money off of it. Think about what that means. As for using the term "bronies" in an episode: How are they going to explain what a "brony" is within that universe? Not even Pinkie Pie would break the 4th wall that hard.
One-sided Spike/Rarity has been canon since the first episode, so-*shot* EDIT: Socks actually originate from this, and since that's by Egophiliac, and everyone loves Egophiliac, it just sort of exploded. But yes, having them referenced in show would be amusing.
Well, I do remember that in season one, they drew in some background characters more because of the fans appeal, but like said by others, just a few small Easter eggs only bronies would get. As for more male ponies, I'd only like to see more of Doctor Hooves. :3
i think that would'nt be any diferent if bronies were known or not, the show will keep the formula that attracted the public, indiferent if its the target public or not.
I'd like to see some of the fanfic stuff possibly be referenced in the show much like how Derpy came to be. Hell, maybe even some plot points suggested by us. Nothing major though. Also, no cupcake references. I'm scarred of Pinkie now after reading that
