The best "sad" scene in MLP is the scene with Rarity and Spike falling and Spike confessing his feelings for Rarity. The best sad/beautiful scene in movie history has to be the ending of the film Smoke, aka, Auggie Wren's Christmas Story. I can't find the whole thing on youtube (it's in two parts, one where he recounts the story, and the second part where the movie ends with his memories of the story played out), but the whole film is streaming on Netflix currently.
I cried on the pilot of the MLP:Fim 2nd season, when Twilight had given up on her friends, but then went back and read all the letters she sent to Princess Celestia in the 1st season.

You know the worst and most ironic thing about ME creating this thread? My tears have freaking dried! There's been more than a year since I last cried. The worst I came to was shedding one single tear after insisting so much for my eyes to do it and imagining even more sad things aside from what I was seeing at that moment (In that case, the last time I cried was in My Little Dashie, about 2 weeks ago. But I was also emotionally vulnerable at that time because something awful that happened in my personal life, so yeah.) Isn't that just awesome?
