Guys, has anyone else noticed how none of the ponies in the show actually look much like, well, ponies? Serisously. Like Merri pointed out, this is a pony: This is also a pony? Maybe, I dunno. Discuss?
She's the most realistic I think I've seen Meh, it's a cartoon, they've got manes, hooves, horse-shaped body parts and sometimes neigh or snort like a horse does. That's pony enough for me.
They look like stylized ponies to me. They're small (I'm assuming? xD), have the horsey bits, and have the horsey muzzlenoses. It's not like they're trying to give us anthro ponies or something. They look like little cartoon horses. Which is what they are.
^ This. I don't need realism in my cartoons, I like them the way they are. And they are much cuter this way. The "more true to life" ones from the previous generations are kinda creepy.
Very true, I was thinking the same. I love the muzzles on the gen4 ponies, huge improvement from the older ones. Much more stylised, makes them loads cuter.
They are their own species. A highly advanced alien race who happen to have traits resembling a horse. These creatures can move in a way no horse could and they are as smart, if not smarter than humans.
I know, right? When I heard the show was done in Flash, I had to go down to the basement to pick my jaw back up. Amazing stuff.
