I've just been informed that Derpy has been censored, and I know that this isnt the place to petition to, but I just want everypony to know that the reasons that they did it are NOT right. Insulting to mentally challenged? Only if you take it that way, and I've seen in the petitions that MANY mentally challenged people love(d) Derpy. But it's too late to stop it now, so lets take a moment of silence for our beloved, muffin-loving, Town-Hall-Destroying, Derpy Hooves.
They can't exactly fix the DVD after the fact. I've got the episode pre-change. I hope they *at least* fix the dialogue in the revised scene.

I'm not following this logic. Just because iTunes is the only official location to buy the episodes magically makes it their fault? If Hasbro were to release a DVD box set tomorrow, it would probably have edited Derpy on it too.

...She had nothing to do with the censorship of Derpy. You honestly think her stating "I don't really like the name Derpy" persuaded Hasbro to do this? She stated her opinion. It's not "wrong" for some people to find Derpy offensive. It's all subjective, varying responses from person to person. If your gonna hate, at least pick the correct people. I'm not about go posting any messages on their dA. The issue was long sealed. But for a change, the voice has to start somewhere. I'm disappointed in the masses, rather than any individual. I can understand the hate for Yamino now, but I'd never even heard of them before the animator's response. The whole Derpy thing came out of nowhere for me, but I guess that's also because it's just so unbelievable in its own right.

Yamino received hate because 4chan doesn't know how to keep their nose out of *squee!* they don't belong in. She was attacked by hundreds of people from 4chan and trolls for stating she dislikes a character from a children's TV show. I respect your opinion to be disappointed overall (I am as well), but I also respect Yamino's as well. She didn't deserve the hatred she had received.

I find it ironic that in an interview, Nicole Angelo speaks about the show being about accepting differences and including everyone, and then goes on to use that train of thought to explain why Derpy was edited as she was. Doesn't seem too accepting to me. I may have only been a brony for a week so far, but I read up a lot about it, and this saddens me greatly. I agree with this very sad video. I find Snips and Snails to be way dumber than Derpy anyway... >_> Uh...how do I post a video?
