Hey guys, i gotta ask for some advice.

Im sitting in my car right now, dressed in my tux, about to go play a concert for my high school band. its no big deal or anything, just our concert that happens every couple months or so. But heres the thing; in things like concerts or long tests, or any time I know I'm unable to get up and move around for a long period of time, my mind freaks out. Pretty much i get reeeally dizzy, which just sorta makes me freak out even more, which makes things worse. And tonights gonna be unusually bad cuz its a longer concert than usual, and i have a solo at one point. So, does anyone have the same problem as me? and even if you dont, any advice on how to chill out?

TL:DR-Im freaking out and want to know how to calm the *squee* down. any tips?

Hey, what I do is I crack lame jokes to myself. Puns. If that isn't appropriate, I just try to focus.

If you're feeling anxiety, laughter can help.

    You'll do great!

When I freak out, I throw up a couple times. That usually helps sometimes. But everyone else thinks it's weird so I'm not too sure about my advice... xD

I have been in that exact same dilemma. What happened was exactly the same: I freaked out. Take deep breaths. try not to fidget. and tell yourself This is gonna be so easy! It works for me I hope it works for you.

Well, that actually went fairly well. I actually ended up pulling out my ipod, and picking a song with Daring Do on the album artwork. Every time i freaked out i clicked it on, and thought what she would say if she saw me panicking over nothing. And it worked :dunno: thus proving that even the panic modes of my brain can be defeated by ponies.

Thanks for the advice though, guys. Helped a lot knowing people were rootin' for me

It worked? I'm glad, even if I didn't get to dispense bad advice! Ponies have conquered all, and, more importantly, you are victorious! Time to celebrate?

If you need to calm down it's essential that you let off some of that nervous energy. Try taking a brisk walk and see how you feel afterwards.

well, you could try to relax, and try doing something that keeps your mind off all your trouble. take a walk, play some video games, watch something that relaxes you.

I'd try get some good sleep but only if you'll get up. Sleep always helps me.

When doing something like that, I usually try to space out and not concentrate so hard. I'm like 75% in my mind and 25% out. I have high blood pressure and when I concentrate too hard on something I also become dizzy. I'm not really explaining it too well, but your body seems to go in like a half-sleep mode and even though you're relaxed you can still perform at your best ability. This post is kind of late, but I figured give my input because I've been in the exact same situation many times, but not with as big of a crowd.
