So over on another forum I'm on one of the admins posted this up. I thought it might be interesting and a bit of fun to do here and get some fellow bronies involved.
So pretty much no sweet junk food for a week? sounds easy enough (famous last words). Do things like gatorades count? cuz if not, then im in.
Yes, yes they do. Basically, if the sugar contained in a product was put there by humans instead of nature it's out.
oh, crap. well thats annoying :/ i sorta need those for my swim meet this weekend. eh whatever, ill rub my sugar consumption in your face XD
Well, this is just for fun, if you have a legitimate reason for consuming sugar then there's no reason you can make that the exception and continue with the no sugar the rest of the week. Anyway, if anyone else has any questions then you'll have to make up the answers yourself :derpe: since I'm heading off to work now. No sugary drinks for me tonight
Hmm...That kinda sounds like my current diet. The only sugar I get is in fruits or juice, and I haven't had a soft drink in 15 years.
Do you ever get the feeling that the world is just playing one big joke on you? I was just about to leave work when I get these off loaded to me. 10 bottles of Sars, Sars being one of the few soft drinks I actually enjoy! Guess they'll just have to wait...
Ok, starting now I'll try, and I'll record my findings. The only sugar I get is usually in cups of tea, so is all we have to do not eat chocolate bars, drink soft drinks etc?
I try to limit myself anyway. I drink nothing but water while I'm at work. One of the things I do is to try to not drink my calories. (unless there's alcohol involved - no avoiding calories then ) My tea I drink without sugar, and I don't have the stigmas against alternative sweeteners that so many carry with them. But completely avoiding it wouldn't happen for me, I just never add any extra to what I have and practice moderation.
I actually don't consume that much sugar (other than the small amount in everyday normal foods). I literally only have 1 soda every 1-2 months, and the last time I had chocolate was Valentine's Day (which was like 10 pieces over the course of 2 weeks). I drink mostly water and fruit juices (which I guess would count as sugar too). But I avoid juices with high fructose corn syrup and all that nasty stuff.
Hmmm, this seems really interesting. I may have to join in! I just bought a 6 pack of ginger ale though, but that's to help with the nausea after my surgery, so I'm gonna let that slide lol. Also, for those that really like ice cream, here's a no-sugar-added alternative! Peel and chop bananas, then freeze them. (I just stick them in a plastic sandwich bag, and periodically break them up so they don't form one giant banana blob). Then just stick them in a food processor and ta-daaaaa! Banana soft serve. You can also add other frozen fruit too, but you have to have bananas to form the base. I do this a lot because I'm a lactard and ice cream makes my tummy and butt very sad.
