Meh some people just don't like it I guess. Don't let it get to you There are lots of other people and I'm sure you have lots of other friends. I commend you on having the courage to tell them. I haven't quite got there yet.
I like how I clicked the spoiler button and read the whole thing before seeing the "Read from bottom to top." That's probably why it didn't make much sense. So after re-reading it: Clearly he's extremely closed minded, and too insecure to try something new. If he's that much of a dick to you, I wouldn't call him a friend.
Nah he's pretty cool, and extremely funny, guess some people are just don't get it though, like you said.
Some people are just like that. I've never tried to convert any of my friends. I just mention it casually and sometimes they get into it. Others hate it, for whatever reason. But if someone talked like that to me, I would not be friends with them. That's just me, however.
Yeah... don't try to convert people. If people know you likes ponies, and they're curious, then show them. Otherwise, you are throwing yourself out there and hoping that your friend overcomes thousands of years of gender bias. You will lose.
Bah! I'll try to convert if I want to, most of my friends are pretty open-minded so I expected him to be as well.
One of my friends has a pun of My Little Pony as his gamertag, he made it back in '07 as a joke because MLP was all sunshine and lollipops back then. I recently asked him if he ever gets mistaken for a brony because of it now, and after I explained what bronies were I got, "That's like the gayest thing ever, like if you're around our age (we're 17 and 18 respectively) don't you have better *squee!* to do than sit around a jack off to cartoon horses" and then I decided not to come out of the stable to him. I don't think I could ever possibly convert him, but I don't really care about converting people.
I used to not be able to stand the theme song. I got over that stage by about episode 15 (Day 2). After that I was singing along to it. As for him not liking it, don't be disheartened. Some people just don't want to be a brony. One of my friends has watched about 20 episodes. He admits it's addicting and he looks up pony memes on Google as well. He also has the Mine Little Pony mod on minecraft as well, although he claims his sister put that on. He refuses to admit being a brony, even though he practically is one. I keep telling him that he's not alone but he says that he will never be a brony.
I notice that when us bronies try to "Convert" our friends, it makes mlp sound like a religion and not an enjoyable show. I wonder it there isn't better term than Convert...
I personally see no problem with the theme. Everytime it comes on I know it's time for a new episode, which makes it kind of epic As for converting and all that, I don't force it onto people. For example, I was with my mates, we were bored so I just said, "Oh by the way guys I'm a brony now." Some of them didn't know what one was and it turned out that one of my friends was a closet brony so he admitted it too. After that, I've just linked videos and made artwork of ponies over time and now I have one friend who says he would be a full-on brony, but he ,"doesn't have the courage like me to tell anyone about it." I've also convinced one of my girl friends to watch the show, and now she's a self-proclaimed lover of Rainbow Dash. So yeah, that's my experience with this.
Persuade? I guess some people are never going to want to be bronies. It's their choice. I don't force it upon people but I do say give it a chance. Although being a brony does take up a lot of my free time. If someone has a busy life, they may not have time for ponies.
yeah last week I had to leave the forums alone as much as possible. I was extremely busy. But now that you mention it, ponies take up 80% of my free time. Normally that would be a bad thing but now that I think about it I would probably do nothing in that free time had I not become a brony.
Since it seems some people are...Confused, for lack of a better word, I'm letting you know that I didn't try to just turn him on to the show out of the blue, there was pre context about it as were talking about it at recess earlier that day, and I let him know that I was going to send him a link to Lesson Zero.
I don't know about others, but I use the term convert in jest. I think most others do too. For me at least, it's kind of an irony thing.
