The 20th of March will be the first day of spring, and as such, we should prepare for winter wrap up! Pick up your spade, collect your salt, and... put it away for now. We have 7 days left of winter, so go and enjoy the last of these three months of winter coolness! Are you excited for spring? Have you got any plans?
I'm going to blast the Winter Wrap Up song as loud as I can out of my bedroom window. It's usually so quiet around here that the entire street will be able to hear it!
Well, looks like it's time to shovel the walk scratch that, I forgot that there was no winter this year.
Dont need too.. *Sigh*The only problem with living in the Southern US is that we dont get much snow.*We did once but it was extremely disappointing* CURSE YOU GLOBAL WARMING!!!
... Nothing here too Sparky. But in here, it is the location that is a problem anyway. No Winter Wrap Up for me
Not much to winter wrap up here in Michigan. It's been in the 60's and 70's this past week. My buddy and I would if there was snow in the begin with. Plan? Well it's gonna be in the 70's all weeks and next week, so cruise or lay on the grass and watch the clouds and sky, go for a walk in dodge park, Hang out with friends, Draw, listen to music and let the Magic of Spring take it's course. Spring is my All time favorite Season of the year.
This song would probably start playing at that very morning. I wake up and see the hour and go right back to sleep.
But you're from Georgia. Every time the state gets a light dusting of snow, school is cancelled, people raid food store shelves and everybody stays inside as if it's the apocalypse (or so I've heard from friends that have moved down there).
Exaggerated, but not without some truth. xD It is entertaining to see people overreact. The main reason for closures, though, is that the state doesn't have a lot of measures in place to counter icy roads (only a handful of salt trucks and shovelers I believe) since it doesn't happen very often. My county, though, has always been one of the last to close on those days, if at all. *grumblegrumble*
I am very excited for spring. Actually, it seems that winter has wrapped up earlier than usual in Pennsylvania. This time last year the high temperature was 44ºF/6.7ºC. Today the high is projected to be about 75ºF/23.9ºC, although right now it's 72ºF/22ºF and mostly sunny. In the short-term it appears it'll stay that way and I love it! This year we didn't even get that much snow, thank goodness. I like the way it looks, but I don't like having to clean it up. Last winter, pretty much every single day there was snow on the ground because each week or two we'd get either a "nuisance" snowfall of a few inches, to a "big" one of nearly a foot of snow. This year, not so much. The biggest I can recall this season was about 3 or 4 inches of snow. Otherwise it would be an inch here, an inch there, a dusting, or flurries. Nothing news-breaking. So winter can kiss my flank and get out of here for all I care. Spring is my second-favorite season next to summer, and I look forward to the longer, warmer days, and for the best part of all (to me), the thunderstorms! There's a small chance for one today, so I have my hooves crossed. I wouldn't mind getting a burst of heavy rain, with some lightning and thunder in the mix. I just love how it sounds (the thunder and rainfall), smells (the rainfall), and looks (the dark clouds, the rain falling, the lightning). It's both relaxing and exciting for me. The sound of rain with distant thunder calms me down, while the sight of lightning bolts and hearing close thunder gives me an adrenaline rush. I just can't wait for the thunderstorm season up here to get going! I've only heard one or two rumbles of thunder so far this year, and even that got my heart pounding. I just love it that much! X3 Good-bye, winter. You will not be missed (by me).
Let's see. It's impossible to clear the skies, we can't wake up animals because they'll get annoyed at us and we can't clear the ground as there is no snow. But we can always sing Winter Wrap Up.
You're like the opposite of me. xD Winter's my favorite followed by fall. Probably has something to with with my hatred of hot weather and the fact that spring and summer in Georgia mean every day is extremely humid and 90+ degrees. And I do physical labor outside in my job.
Had some good snow here earlier this year, but it's been warm lately and it's all melted. But the weather here is so unpredictable, so you never know.
I would have been excited for Spring (if it had actually started when it was supposed to). The "snow" that I had melted at the end of January. Weather y u no make sense?
Does it snow at all in South Africa? I'd think it would it since you're pretty far from the equator, although since you're in the southern hemisphere, it's fall soon isn't it? My dad, who's from Cameroon, said he thought it did but wasn't sure.
I missed snow this year. I'm originally from Washington, and while it was usually rain instead, there was usually a week or two of snow in my town, enough to let you really appreciate it. But I am in California now, and the snow doesn't show here. Any chance y'all could send some my way?
