For the simple fact that I don't know how to use Blender, I learnt how to model using Rhino, AutoCAD and Revit (most adept in AutoCAD) and I find Rhino to be the quickest. I do have blender installed but have yet to really understand how to use it, since it's more animation based it's so completely different to anything else I've used. I'll get around to learning it eventually but right now I've too many other things on my mind.
Some good news after yesterdays bombshell for me. I talked to one of my friends that is fixing up a house to rent and will be ready by when I expect to need to move. Might work out perfectly for both my friend and me with the timing.
