Eh....could be better. Due to circumstances beyond my control 9one cart pusher is on vacation, the other got in a car accident, poor guy), I'm the only cart pusher currently available on my store's roster. So, I have to try to keep the whole lot clear on my own without anyone else coming in to help unless I ask for it, get lucky, and actually get it. It's also humid and in the mid-80s, so I'm sweating up a storm the whole time. But I knew this from the get go yesterday, so I'm okay with that. I make the best of it and do what I can. What I didn't foresee, however, was what one of the Customer Service Managers had to say when I told her I was leaving at the end of the day. She proceeded to give me a 10 minute lecture on how one of the managers is angry at us cart pushers for not doing our jobs well enough and how everything we do is wrong and hurts the store as a whole. Eventually, I mustered up enough calmness to smile and say, "Oh, please tell me how else I suck at my job." She insisted she wasn't saying that and that her lecture wasn't directed at me specifically (though it feels like I'm the only one she lectures to). So I went from going through a tough but otherwise decent day to fuming like crazy in 10 minutes flat. then I got home and watched Pinkie Pie's Smile song scene and felt a bit better, like this. oh no it's completely fine, don't worry about it at all. i'm happy to hear all about anything you have to say. it sounds like your job isn't too great at the moment but i think you always have to try and see the light emerging from dark, i'm sure it will get better for you soon
It will by Wednesday, when I get two straight days off. They'll have a time scrambling to find someone to get the carts, since me not being there means nobody will be there. It'll get definitely better when the other guy comes back on Saturday. But I'm fine. A bit indignant, but I'm working on not letting this stuff eat away at me anymore, thanks to ponies and bronies like you guys. Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention. She also mentioned that the store might adopt a policy that would forbid a cart pusher from leaving to go home until the lot is clear of carts, regardless of when they're scheduled to get off. All I can say to that is that if they do, they'll have one less cart pusher.
well that's good that you get a few days off. and i can really see that policy sucking, it sounds awful. for your sake i hope they don't use that, and if they do i hope for you that you find another job if you quit

Thanks! Me too. I hope things go well with your lady friend! I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to talk to the girl I like, but I did pass by her yesterday. Maybe I imagined it, but she beamed at me and told me hello in what I believe was a really enthusiastic way.
oh, haha thanks, things with her are going great. for example, like 5 minutes ago she said i'm the sweetest boy she knows, so i think that counts for something. and i wish you lots of luck with the girl you like, keep going with small steps, it's the way to do it
That's great. I remember being told that, long ago. You gotta be careful, though. Make sure it doesn't go from "sweetest boy" to "friend-zoned nice guy." Not that I'm the best person to say what to do, since I am one of those nice guys. WHAT! Why I oughtta! Where are the punks? Lemme at 'em!
yeah i really don't think that's going to happen with us, she knows i like her and she likes me too. i think we both know it's only a matter of time before we date
