It's a sometimes true thing, raccoon. The reasoning is a bit complex, so I won't go into it here, and it's not always true, but I always wonder about people that have a real hate-on for something in particular. In any case, I never read the comments on you-tube. If I like a video, I watch it. If I don't, then I press "stop," and move on. Ohmygoshohmyhostohmygosh! My 100th post! Man, I wish I had something more interesting to say!
But why? You're missing out on place of intelligent discussion, friendly banter, tolerating the opinions of otherha ha ha ha, oh, I couldn't keep that up for long. Seriously, YouTube comments are among the most ridiculously stupid of any other medium.
That, and unless it's a friend, I'm not really interested in their opinion. Isn't there something that vocalizes the users comments? I know, people have got to use it to get the feedback.
*watches a video* *looks at comment* "Hurr durr 12 people don't blahdeblahdeblah" "Thumbs up if u agree!" "Press 5 for derpa durr...." Yeah, YouTube isn't the most intellectual place. There was to be someway to get decent comments from people...
There's feedback, then there's YouTube is like Facebook. A brilliant idea, wasted by the moronic masses. Sorry, I guess I'm the MC gets sidetracked easily of everypony.com. So yeah, don't worry about haters on YouTube, because they're not the kind of people you want on your side anyway. I mean seriously, like every damn video.
Youtube is one of those websites where you don't need to know a single thing about the backstage part of the Internet (that being memes), so it easily gets filled with idiots. My IRL friends declared that some sites don't count as the Internet since most websites online usually have somehing revolving around memetics, and Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Myspace, etc. are the kind where any idiot can join and be their idiotic self. Therefore, my friends and I don't consider those sites as "Internet".
Hi folks... Can't help but add my two cents too, as a recently converted Brony. I do apologise in advance if I repeat, in essence, what others have said but...!! It's like a form of xenophobia. People are very quick to be afraid of those who are different and aren't like them. That, my friends, is exactly how homophobia, racism, religious intolerance and the like start and spread. I think one of the greatest things in this day and age, the era we live in - particularly in western countries fortunate enough to have this liberty - is simply the freedom of choice. We're free to like whatever the hell we want. Free to watch what we want and enjoy what we want. Sure, there may be some "oddballs" who see MLP - FiM as an opportunity for "Rule 34" and overt...well, strange behaviour...but the bulk of us do not. As you all know. We're here, because we appreciate an ultimately positive, enjoyable message. A show with clever humour, loveable but entertaining characters, genuine creativity and a level of appeal that can speak to us without being "silly". Think of when we were all children. The world was an inherently good place back then, right? Things were innocent and pure. As we grow...into adolescence and beyond - (I'm nearly 25) - we lose sight of the innocence and good in the world. We become progressively bogged down into, if I may use some poetic licence here, a world of concrete and suspicion. You know what I mean. The childhood innocence is gone...and we start seeing the bad and twisted in people. We trust less. We look out for ourselves more. We lose the ability to laugh and - somewhere along the line...we lose the ability to ENJOY and have fun. What I love about MLP - FiM is that innocence is there...happiness...joy - but not in a "fake", rose coloured glasses way - no, it's in a way that explores the pleasures of life - but also highlights the differences...(not all the characters can relate, but they do their best...not all is peachy, but they again, do their best). It's a humourous and inherently likeable show - where healthy competition and healthy differences are celebrated but at the end of the day, the characters can still care about each other and look out for each other. As I've said in an earlier post...I work in a sometimes confronting job - as an EMT/firefighter and doing rescue work. I deal with the worst of the worst once it's happened and pick up the pieces. So you know...rather than go home and watch Law and Order or CSI and look at violence, bodies and crime - I'd rather tune out to the black of the world and watch MLP. A light hearted innocence...that reminds me of the right attitudes...and reminds me that at the end of the day, the happiest amongst us are those who love and tolerate. Bronies...remember this: "In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play." ~Friedrich Nietzsche This is OUR way to "play". Trolls and haters get their kicks from venom and vitriol. We get ours from a clever, well written show, dynamic friendships and innocence - and harmless enjoyment. I think we're the stronger, better people for it.
MinerPony - you're a genius. Couldn't have said it better myself. That sums up one reason why I don't like being a security guard - I generally only meet people at their worse. And, for some reason, people often react hostilely towards me simply because I have a uniform on. I'm often accused of making up rules just to ruin peoples fun. Most people think I'm a wanna-be police officer (I'm not), and have been called every name in the book - just because I'm trying to help some intoxicated guest get to their room. No wonder I need a pony break every day.
heres the plan,we take everyone whos not already a brony, put them in camps, and have them brainwashed with memes, fanfics, and epsidoes screening constantly, until everyone realizes friendship is magic, and if they dont gt along, they will be fed to the dimond dogs!
And as I said earlier, that response similar to xenophobicness is fueled by instict, and that means we should genetically wipe out the no longer needed instincts.
genetic experiementation? i know just the bullies who deserve it abotu 15 of them(id rather not talk about it,but theres aa reason i dont go to mainstream high school) il teach the, for shoving me into closing train doors, beating me up just outside the shcool gatesso they cant get in trouble, and trying to PUSH ME UNDER A TRAIN!
That's something you can report to the police, dude. I would strongly suggest reporting those people.
i tried, they somehow manmaged to nearly get it turned round on me,the police even wanted me to be assesessed
but i realised,if i hate all fo humanity for that and various other things, then im just as bad as them,so ill just keep smiling, and when the time comes, ill eb the one in power
You have to be confident in what you like and enjoy. Being that kid who openly admits to like MLP will make you seem eccentric yes, and perhaps a little strange, but at the end of the day it's part of who you are. If you show no weakness in openly liking the show (and for some people it's a culture) then there's nothing they can do to get you down, they're just wasting their time.
no this was 3 years ago,i managed to get tjhem to stop by going into autonoumous education, and none of them know where i live
i then transferred to a non-mainstream school and i was bullied because i was a quite, hardworking student, who spent his breaks in the libary,(i eneded up reading all the adult law books and understanding them all in under a month) and then there were these guys from the school opposite, who just saw me on the train and decided i was the alloted punching bag
Don't worry about it. In the 15 years I've been a DJ & 9 years as a music producer, I've had some major grief from haters. Real nasty 20+ page slating topics about me on forums, my own production tutorials / blogs cut up and re arranged to basically rip into me. BUT I push through it an where did it get me? Having my work picked up an me signed as an artist to some of the biggest UK Hardcore labels in the business. Just push past it an think......yea & and? this it my thing, this is me! I am me & there for I am. - Like it...or leave
