Well it's not our normal channel and it has a limit of 50 viewers, but we have resumed service on a backup channel. The normal ways you'd reach the radio will get you there to our new channel, on the viewers end little will have changed, for now though we will have tougher guidelines on the uploads so until we find out exactly what the original got taken down for: -We will not be playing an PMVs of copyrighted content, no Wierd Al or WTF collective - sorry -We will not play any Hasbro ads, sorry no Equestria Girls -We will not play any episodes Please be patient while we sort out returning to our normal operation, we hope to have our original channel back up as soon as possible if possible, if not we are weighing our alternatives. In the meantime, enjoy constant 24/7 original pony music. On another note, with the 50 viewer limit if you want to use the chat but are not going to be listening to the music, please use the pop-out chat so that you don't take a space from one who does want to listen to the stream. Should we reach our 50 minute limit, we will still have our livestream up and running so as to not deny you your pony fix.
It's great to know we have a backup radio and I'm sure we were all ready to make some sacrifices because of this incident.
Well, the worst thing is that we lost all of our videos, and damn, there was a lot of them. A lot of effort was put into uploading them. Other than that, it's nothing, just think positive. AT least our viewers stayed.
Like we would ever dream of leaving....where else would we go? Our MP3s? Too lonely. YouTube? Too collectively stupid. Our radio is just right.
Ouch. Anger levels are reaching critical mass. I may even find it difficult to continue to love and tolerate. Those ToS can go and yay themselves. I was honestly spending a lot less time on the Radio but that was due to many new responsibilities piling up all at once. But I still love the forums. I hope that whatever happens to the Radio doesn't cause the forums to suffer. I just had an Idea Jaret. I have unlimited internet so if there is anyway I can help to upload videos to EPR just let me know. Also To Jaret and Grey Nightmare. I have tried to send you guys Private Messages but but it says your inbox is full. Strange that administrators would have a limit but anyway, just wanted to let you know.
It sucks what happened, hopefully we can find out soon exactly what it was that screwed up the works so we can avoid it in the future. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was the full episodes, I don't think anything else we had up would really have caused a problem. It could have been an anti-brony troll too, I have known of a few cases on YouTube where one user not liking another one would put out a bunch of copyright claims on videos to mess up the other person. Even if it's a lie the company still has to act right away to protect themselves while they look into things. Well at least we have things running again and I can still get my sweet pony tunes. ^^,
Well, I spent a good ~30 minutes looked at all the prohibited actions on Livestream (and my eyes got damaged in the process since they typed them in all caps...) and I think I know what happened. I haven't said anything because I'm waiting for Grey's reply, but I guess I could explain if people wanted me to. Anyways, I'm glad we could get a backup stream running. I know that whatever happens I'll stick around here. I know the problem can be fixed and will be one way or another. I don't know if there's much I can do to help, but if something comes up I'll let you guys know. P.S.: 90% sure it's not the episodes.
Wow, I leave for just four days and come back to find a lot has happened in my absence. I hope whatever the issue with the old EPR is worked out. Thanks to the admins and mods for keeping everyone up to date and trying to restore EPR. Even a backup is better than nothing. And finally, thanks to all my fellow bronies who are sticking it out. This is just a bump in the road.
Well, the other reason I didn't say anything was that it would take a while to type out, but I can just give a tl;dr version and if someone wants me to elaborate I guess I will. Basically, the player Ripp created is in violation of at least 5/21 prohibited actions from the ToS. ... The last reason I didn't say anything was because a couple people were already considering that. EDIT: I forgot to add that there is a very small chance some of the videos played on EPR caused the problem as well. Not because of copyright, but more because of the content in the videos. I doubt that that has anything to do with the problem though.
Ewww, I was afraid the player may have been part of the problem. That sucks cause I really liked it too.
*Sigh*, well, this is saddening.... Better than none at all sure, fantastic even on that subject, but still saddening. I hope someday it will reach it's previous glory (the 50 viewer limit to change, etc.). Now, I am NO specialist on the subject of LiveStream, I don't know the situation at it's fullest, and I doubt that I even fully comprehend it. So I would like to apologize in advance about hoping for the Impossible (If it is indeed Impossible). On a different Note, will the "Song List" have things removed in order to clarify which vids will not be showing? Thanks, and I Appreciate All you have done here to help fix this problem.
*facehoof* If Its my player I'm buy everypony cake cus I AM SURE IT ISN'T Its most likely the copyright violations since we have no rights to show any of the episodes or some or the PMV. My player uses the provided chromless player from livestream Along with the provided API tools from livestream It also uses a dev key registered to my livestream account not Grey's Infact the player is in no way linked to the channel except nothing else is ever viewer on it. But I can just as easily use it to watch any channel If it is the player livestream have just gone and done something simular to: Fining the owner of a store becuase it gets robbed and letting the robber get off free. Providing, documenting and encouraging something they forbid. Ok now how can that make sense? However until further notice (mainly to keep Grey happy) the player is not in use, and I wont be using my copy either.
You player did prevent advertisements for showing up for some users, that is a direct violation of the ToS If that is what caused it no one's holding it against you because that was completely incidental, just know in the future we won't be able to use your player
Copyright police have screwed me so many times. I don't know anymore. I'm still angry. I shouldn't think hasbro wouldn't care about free episode streaming since most of their money comes from bronies buying pony toys and their show would not be as popular as it it if not for free streaming. It's amazing how greedy people get once they start getting a little bit of money. @#$% Copyright.
