If it is the case Im filling more complaints since the player I used is the unmodified chromeless player as provided directly by livestream and mentioned in the examples. im 90% certain its the copyright stuff Oh also for interest sake show of hooves on how did/didn't get adverts Further edits, I didn't try to remove the adverts and I couldn't have made them appear anyway. *facehoof* table fail
With Adblock I didn't see adverts, but when I watched on my phone... hoboy did I see them adverts. The player definitely didn't stop em.
Non-profit means nothing, If they are provided here for free and the orgional creator is no longer benefiting from it they start losing out.
If you want to pitch against them for your player, please be my guest - I can't get a reply from them at all, nothing, no explanation no reassurance, no denial, no nothing. I'm furious. If you hear anything please do let me know! I loved your player additions and I know many others did - We just can't risk it until we hear what they were so f***** up about.
I'll pin it on my todo list, untill then I'm being optimistic and deving new ideas. Selective mute, as some ponies can't stand certain songs. Edit after much hitting of the esc key (to stop the stupid redirect) I have a question post on the livestream API forums Now to allow 5-10 years for a response....
Double post justifed to draw attention to this? Its important! Live stream actually got back to me! granted they are not being very clear... http://www.livestream.com/forum/showthread.php?p=26926#post26926 that is my conversation so far with them. As far as I can tell they seem to be implying that the player could not have caused a ToS breach. Though to double check I am waiting on another reply. in player related news v0.6 now has a "mute the rest of the song" button.
Get a crystal clear confirmation, bookmark the thread, printscreen it and save an offline copy of the webpage and we'll be on LS's toosh should they take us down again. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Just for clarification, as I wouldn't want to form opinions on something I didn't fully understand, Livestream banned you: A) Without warning B) Without an immediate explanation C) Then didn't reply to you? Is this right? I apologize if I made something up along the way, I'm just a little shocked that something like this would happen to a non-profit website.
Wow, Livestream sure is stubborn... and they never responded to you? What in the world is going on...
My opinion? Somepony reported us, Livestream banned us straight off without looking into it (youtube copyright troll style) and now don't want to reply as they'd look pretty darn stupid. However I admittedly have no physical evidence to support this claim and even if I did without a reply there is very little I can do about it.
I just hope this isn't some attempt to start an online war with us from one of the other sites. I've seen that happen before in other groups. There will be different sites, all supporting the same thing, and yet for some reason they refuse to get along with each other.
I know it probably isn't what you guys want to do, but if Livestream refuses to reply no matter what, you could either just make the backup channel the official channel or you could change to another streaming site. There are plenty of other sites similar to Livestream that have no viewer limits.
Unless I'm misinterpreting what you said, I know of sites that let you broadcast video+audio 24/7 if you want to.
We have no clear response yet and it doesn't look like we'll get one It's not IF a custom player is allowed It's IF your custom player specifically violated the ToS Some people reported not getting ads with it, accidental as that may be if they could detect that sort of abnormality (if it was a confirmed error) it'd be much more likely for us to be taken down for that then to someone actually look through our content (livestream only actively tracks their top 20 channels). But it's pretty clear that we're not going to get a clear answer on this, we've been down a while now with absolutely no word on it. We may reconsider a custom player sometime in the future, but I think it's safe to say for now we'll go with the default player.
