Part of me thinks Rarity already knows about Spike's crush and is just going along with it. I'd like to see Spike sing a song about Rarity. I think that will produce some good humor. I do agree with you. Even though I love Spike, he IS just sort of there. I mainly like to think of things that can be done with him. Maybe he could have an episode with the CMC's, they could blackmail him with his crush on Rarity or something like that. Or maybe an episode where he wants to know about his dragon origins?
I dunno if this has been said anywhere else, but what if Spike isn't maturing normally? After seeing Secret of my Excess, Spike reminded me of an animal, but I couldn't remember what it was called. Now I remembered; it was an Axolotl. Because of their environment they stay in their baby form their entire life. I wonder If Spike is going through the same, maybe because he was removed from his natural environment?

I, personally, don't want the whole Spike x Raity thing to become canon. I find it more funny when she completely ignores him and he keeps fantasizing. I'm also waiting for Spike to get wings but I don't think that will ever happen. I hope it does though.
Too late. Uh, I hate to tell you, but that's how it works with pretty and popular girls. I doubt he'll get the wings. The river dragon doesn't have any.
