There's no point having a rant. This 6 minute video does it better than me. If you've watched "One Foot in the Grave", you'll know what I mean: (It's best to turn the volume up and watch the whole video. :3)
I think people overreact about some things. For example, KONY 2012. Somepony posts a paragraph of truth that doesn't support Kony 2012. Instant one-sided argument. Also, WHY IS EVERYTHING SO EXPENSIVE!? I go to my local Aldi, which always has the lowest prices; prices are twofold their usual. One last thing: GET UP AND DO STUFF YOURSELF!! I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE ASKING ME TO DO STUFF THEY COULD EASILY DO THEMSELVES!! End of rant. Next? P.S.: I mean no offense. If any is taken, I sincerely apologize. I just needed to vent.
Today i went to a group therapy thing.(My Mom made me) Near the end theses two morons made fun of me behind my back. Why must i be insulted where ever i go?Is it because i'm different? If i was in a worse mood....Well...um....The room would be painted red.....
The only thing in my eyes worth ranting about is the existance of this thread. Or rather, it's continued existance. Why? We have an rule that allows admins to lock any threads deemed "depressing". Originally this was because these threads were all rant threads that "displeased" certain users. Thus, they were closed. It happens that most of the people posting those threads were indeed depressed, thus the depression law. Of course, that's not the WORD of the law, but it is the spirit of such. Тhus, when initially erroneous wording becomes the thing followed as opposed to the original meaning, problems usually arise. This post is merely a case in point.
I see the point. I just made this thread to just let people try to complain about anything as long as it abides by the rules. If necessary, you may lock it.
I would be kinda sad if the thread was locked right now, since it doesn't seem volatile ATM, but I wouldn't care much of you did. Go ahead and do it if you must. EDIT: as in ask an admin to lock it.
I let things run their course =P I am against the original thread ban thing anyways, but inconsistency is probably the worse of the two wrongs. Not to mention, what with grey's recent trolling, nowhere is safe. *ghoststoryface*
I've kept an eye on this thread and originally didn't close it because... well, it didn't seem like a bad idea. The overall concept was to rant about whatever you like, which doesn't inherently have to be depressing. It can be fun to rally up the forum with a good rant about something we all find annoying. I've seen the concept on other forums and think it might be an idea to see where this goes. That's why, for now, I'll let this one ride out to see where it goes. And, to help it along, I'll contribute. One thing that annoys me so much is 'Parent Logic'. The kind of thing which has your mother turn off your game because you'll miss dinner, then you go downstairs only to find she hasn't finished cooking it yet. I mean really, do you need to do that? Or the kind of thing where she yells at you because you haven't done some minor chore (like vacuuming) after you spent all day cleaning the house. Give us a break, seriously!
Teachers who - when told you're struggling - tell you to do some revision in your own time. HELLO, if I was capable of "teaching" myself, I wouldn't even be here?! Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
^ The best one is when I E-mail in a question I don't know how to solve, and he tries to do it and can't.
I think we should force the haters to sit and watch ponies until they enjoy it. The hate would go down a bit. I think that people shouldn't think that people who like the swastica are neo-nazis. The swastic is also the hindu symbol of good luck! They need to do their research.
I don't agree with your first point. If they are forced to watch it, they deliberately going to pick out any flaws with it. They'll refuse to enjoy it as haters are usually close-minded. Your second point, however, I do agree with. As a Hindu, during Diwali, our family drew swastikas outside of our house. My friends thought that we were nazis, which was quite amusing. Our neighbours didn't mind though. I live in a pretty good area.
People who have this mindset make me wonder why people think this is a good idea. I mean really, forcing them to watch it just makes them hate us more. It's like forcing your kid to go to church. You shouldn't do it because people should only go if they are willing to listen. Like I don't because I don't let a three letter word that's capitalized tell me how to govern my life, thank you. I may be a Christian, but I'm not some diehard religious nutjob.
NOTE: this is NOT a rant! Here's the only rule I will put here. Please keep this mind before posting now. You can say you disagree with someone, but they can't argue. This goes vice versa. Keep this in mind when you post. DISCLAIMER: I am not an admin, but I'm 99% certain they would agree with this rule.
In science we were given a textbook that we keep for the year. Then the teacher tells us to take notes from that textbook. Why would I want to read my barely-legible brief notes when I have a much clearly source to revise from?
Fair point but I prefer reading to writing. I aced all of my science exams by reading one book. I learn better through reading. Then again, everyone is different, but you should have a choice of how you work in class.
I hate it when a thread is on a roll, and all of sudden, I end up somehow becoming a combo breaker...
