I'm growing tired of ignorant people judging male followers of the MLP fandom and accusing them of having lurid sexual fantasies or being 'into' children sexually merely because of a show that they watch (Which, for the record is inspiring and teaches everyone the value of friendship, which isn't at all creepy.) Even if there are suggestive images and content following the fandom, it's something that is happening with pretty much every other popular cartoon in existence and isn't harming anyone specifically. Children below a certain age shouldn't even be permitted access to the internet without secure family safety filters anyway!

I'm a female, and if my boyfriend (would succumb to my attempts to get him to watch MLP with me) was into MLP Friendship is Magic then it would be absolutely amazing! He's 23, and I have tried numerous times to convince him to give it a go, but the most he's ever responded to is a brohoof, which is a start! I don’t find adult male followers of the series to be offensive or perverted, especially since many of these wonderful people created such warm, friendly atmospheres’ on websites such as these! Not to mention they produce awesome music, art and can give great support and advice through difficult times like a very dear friend would. Is that so wrong?
:D They should be praised for being so loving~ And even I get ridiculed for watching the series because of my age! I mean, recently I wandered passed a house selling some things in a mini yard boot sale. When I saw the My Little Pony figurines for less than 50p each and MLP candy shop for less than £1.00 I thought I was the luckiest girl alive! The girl was delighted that I gave her my money, but the mother gave me a horrid glare. O_O These kind of things never put me off, and should NEVER affect any other brony out there! I know you are proud of who you are, and (even though you don't need me to confirm this) YOU SHOULD BE~!

There's no need for shallow, mindless, discriminative comments and actions towards a group of peaceful ponies. The majority of us are fun, harmless and just want to be loved and understood by one another~ :)

I agree. Most people when they hear someone say they are a Brony they begin to think they are not a good person to be around. Also I find most of the people who judge us for who we are have never even seen an episode. Ponies are fun to draw, fun to watch and very inpirational!

Hear hear, Sinderlocke! I wear my bronyism loudly and proudly! Why should I hide away and be ashamed of the one show and community that helped me change who I am for the better, like nothing else has been able to? I always have some pony paraphernalia when I go out in public. At the moment, it's just one of two shirts. Soon I'll have more, and even a couple of blue polos (one with RD cutie mark and another with Derpy's face) that I'll be able to wear at work. Also getting a Derpy beanie. And when i get my light blue car fixed, I'm gonna put RD cutie mark decals on it. :trixieftw:

I don't go around everywhere shouting that I'm a brony for much the same reason I don't go everywhere shouting I'm an atheist. But I make it completely obvious to other bronies, and respond with enthusiasm whenever non-bronies inquire about my shirts and stuff like that.

Precisely! It's so fun to be a part of, but also fit the spectrum of what I believed in and aspired to. Tolerence, love and diversity are not shameful hobbies in my opinion and people should do some unbiased research for a change before making horrid assumptions. :)

Absolutely~ The show has become much more than a fandom! It has allowed freedom and expression, as well as the ability of growth into pleasant and open minded people.

I believe that curiosity is more than acceptable, and many times I have been asked "Why I watch a show (initially) for kids." I usually explain that these types of things shouldn't restrict others based on age, and that there is no boundaries with how we all express ourselves. Our community, I say, is mostly focused on love, care and friendship. They usually understand completely, but you do also experience an unfortunate amount of conflict because of it. I've recently printed my own designs onto a couplet-shirt, and I wear it most days I adbandon my corsets, leather, lace and chains for casual wear. I'm also working on a gothic Luna jacket! (Eee!)

I'm not hurting anybody, someone even thought I was cute for doing so! And although I never mention my 'bronyism', when I'm asked about it, I answer with pride and a smile. :)

It's like some mothers watch babie shows without their children! Why should we be discriminated when its fine in other shows, most rated for even younger, and it is seen as a normal thing!

If males watching mlp makes them gay, then by that logic, females watching transformers makes them a lesbian.

You speak such truth! I no longer listen or pay attention to trolls though.

If you were here I would brohoof you. You are awesome.

I am sorta a public brony. My family knows and my sister makes fun of me for it. Because I am the older sibling and she thinks even she is too old for the show.
Oh well...I have friends like you so It doesn't matter. :D

    EDIT:Best 700th post ever

D'aww, why thank you very much! :) I pay no attention to trolls. My boyfriends younger sibling of 11 years proclaims himself to be an internet troll. It's silly, but when I see trolling take place, I always imagine them as my boyfriend's 11 year old brother! :D

My older brothers make fun of me for it, and I have a few friends at college who are into it and make it great to be a brony! :)

    Congrats! :D

Me and especially my BF would agree with you. People didn't know how to appreciate such a great, intelligent comedic show. :( I miss Kiva.

I know. It's hard to reason with incredibly stubborn and conceited people. :) I never try to convert unless for a lighthearted joke or amung dear friends. It's not like I force any pressure on anyone to join, so I see no reason for the negative action.

I laughed when people said we were hated because they thought it was for pedophiles. Then I facepalmed because it was actually serious...

And this is why I cannot go public about being a brony at school. I have a feeling that I'd be ridiculed and called all those negative things if I did.
