I remembered that the Fan-Fiction area had a developmental dairies thread and though, "Hey maybe the RP section could use something like that as well," and well here it is. All you do in this thread is shoot ideas for RP's for others to read. Then you can set about honing the idea down so that you can start your RP better than just throwing it out into the sub forum and seeing if it takes or not. I would love to see members helping each other here in the RP section this way. I do have an idea for an RP that I would like to share. The RP's name is Titanicus: The God Machines go to War, it is somewhat based off of Dan Abnett's book that has the same title which in fact inspired me to try this idea out for a role play. The general idea is that Equestria is once more under attack but this time in the form of an enemy crusade, the main strength of which is composed of 100-200 foot tall walkers or titans. Thats all I have for right now as it's still kind of a work in progress.
As good as a idea it is I'm a little tired of Warfare RP. We already got The Resistance and LOCP 4 (Maybe). I like the normal ones like Days in Equestria. (Which has stalled! Need some posters.) Perhaps we should come up with more creative RP ideas centered around peaceful stuff like that?
Again it's still in the works, I'm still thinking of a decent plot line, not to mention how hard it is to work with titans! This simply means that this RP may not come online for a good while. As for the more peaceful type of RP's they tend to flat line since there is too little action. This means that you have to strike a correct balance by having adventures every so often. No one in Days in Equestria has sent me a PM regarding any sort of adventure which is why it has probably stalled out now.
I'm really terrible with any RP's that are futuristic or military-style. I dunno, I'm just not the kind of person who can bring myself to even type that I'm yelling at nonexistant people/ponies :/ Perhaps, in the adventures category, we could have things like they have in the normal MLP series? There's some conflict, maybe somepony gets into a fight, but there's not random acts of violence or killing. I'm defiantly a lot more comfortable with more peaceful rps.
Jhera that's what I'm trying to do with Days in Equestria, but since no one is coming up with adventures I fear it will hit rock bottom here pretty soon. And again it's going to take me a while to make this new RP, and I'm not forcing any to sign up to it, that is never how RP's should be seen. You only sign up if the RP catches your attention and you feel like playing in it. Now then if enough of you are done criticizing my new RP post up your own ideas as that is the main thing of this thread, not to shoot mine down in bursts of flame.
I know as much about RPs as a rock knows about blood, but I have some ideas that were supposed to be used in fan fics. I'm not sure if some would translate that well to RPs. The one was kinda a horror idea. If you wanna hear I'd be happy to share. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Alrighty. I only have 2 till I dig through my phone to find the rest. The first one has to deal with the griffions attacking cloudsdale. The issue is this idea was mostly meant to focus on Gilda, Dash and fluttershy, not the attack itself. So I doubt it would work, plus there's a bunch of RPs like this. The second one is called the quiet game. You know how fluttershy says she's the world champ and you can't beat her. I got the idea after reading cupcakes. Fluttershy would kipnap her friends, they then play the quiet game. If they talk they lose, losing means they die. Of course like cupcakes it would be violent and gory. I'm developing an idea for an RP actually that isn't too fighting oriented but isn't too peaceful either. The basic premise is that the characters in the RP will be manipulated by an antagonist to perform various tasks throughout Equestria. How said character will go about manipulation, keep track of manipulation, the tasks, and so much more have yet to be thougt out fully. I'll work at this in pieces.
I wish there was a peaceful RP that your just ponies that live in Equestria but everypony now-days loves gore =/
We have quite a few of those peaceful RPs going on, and no gore RPs. Maybe you've misread something's on your way here.
For a peacfull RP how about episode RP. How that works is it's a bit like a fan fic of a custom episode only you RP it out. just an idea not 100% certain it'll work...
