I guess that this fandom could live on for a while.

But now on the topic of the show itself, how many seasons do you think there will be before the next generation? I'm hoping that this generation never ends but the writers will eventually run out of ideas and succumb to the "Spongebob effect". I'm guessing about 5 in total.

I think like 3 or four more seasons remain.
Finally, the Spongebob effect is catching on.

The fandom won't die out completely, but it will lose stream. I'm not sure if it has peaked, but it will certainly peak after MLP:FIM is finished.

There was a similar thread to this a long while back, but the topic is an interesting one that can be discussed many a time.

Bronies, like anything, will have their peak, and then slowly fade into a steady pace and/or slowly decline, leaving that last handful of fans that will always stay true.
The peak could be now, as I would assume, or later, but we ain't goin' no where yet! I say enjoy it while the fun lasts. I don't think I'll be a brony forever, no way. I remember my love for other fads and shows and I thought I'd love it for years and years and I look back and it lasted a few months. Things change, and we move on.

However, being a brony, to me, will always be something I won't forget. Heck, I hope I keep in contact with most of the close friends I have made through the community and that will always remind me how the show helped bring a massive group together to share their talents, creativity, humour, charisma and intelligence.

We are so diverse and unique, I think bronies will last for a long time yet.

Being a Brony will always be something I hold close to my heart. This experience has changed me.

I think I will always be in love with this show's characters. I may think of it less frequently in the many years to come, but it will always have a special place in my heart... and on my shelf. I love brushing ponies.

I'm still a fan of Sonic, and look how dead any continuity of that is.

I think it will last a long time. That is if the fandom doesn't turn on its self and implode.

Well, "when bronies die out" is completely up to the person following, in the end. When they leave, they leave.
Like Aynine said, Sonic's continuity is just dust now after it's flops in the market (although, Generations was a step in the right direction), but there are still fans.

The power of fandom is ultimately the diversity of the people involved. Content can be created by fans to keep alive what means most to them, long after what they love may die, or simply discontinue. It's all quite touching in that respect, seeing how something that might seem "over the top" to some, actually has creative and inspiring values to many individuals and when the original falls, the fans only rise up to the moment to re-light the torch and are at the ready to pass it on.

I believe that bronies shall do just that.

When has any huge fandom truly ever "died out"? Honestly it's not something even worth worrying about.

The Fandom isn't going anywhere any time soon. Bronyism is here to stay. I don't think about of this but if the show does come to the end, Then it would be a Sad Day for all Bronies alike. Even the fact, Yes, the Will come to the end but the spirit of Bronyism, won't. Once a Brony, Always a Brony. A Brony to the very end. Let just live as it is right now and Have some fun in the time being.

Something interesting. Compare episodes 1 & 2 of mlp;fim to the rest (3-...)

There was something unique about 1 & 2. It felt like a movie, i was kept on my toes the entire time. Now it seems like a few episodes that have been made recently aren't very respectful of the intended nature. Although the show still remains surperior to almost every show out there today, something is already missing that was there in the 1st season.

Bronies will die out when the ancient, decrepit Earth 5 billion years from now crumbles into oblivion...

What if Outer Contact from somewhere else in space finds out about Bronyism? Huh? Huh? It could happen. :3

It definitely could. And I hope that does happen. So that the aliens who sent us dubstep can then embrace their new pony overlords.
