The show existed. As such, those who like it will exist. It needs only to be seen. The charity drives this fandom has done has accomplished far more than any other I have been a part of. That is, the fans, and not just those who are/were an actual part of the show in some way. Balloon Party is for getting the musicians to the next BroNYCon. If there's leftover money, will it go to charity, perhaps? Even if it doesn't, there will be auctions that do donate proceeds to charity. That's amazing. Absolutely amazing.
I guess that even if the show does end and many bronies leave the fandom, you'll still have the more serious bronies left over so we'll never completely die out. As for bringing up an old topic, I couldn't find that thread in my quick search and it's probably best to start a new thread than dig up an ancient thread. Also, there are many new bronies on the site to discuss this with.
I like to think of my little pony as a fun great show and just like jet stream said it has to end some time and if it ends soon so be i,t it just is not our choice when Friendship ends it is only hasbros and we cant do anything about sure if it does end I will still watch the episodes but in my option this brony thing we have here will last a long time
Fandoms don't die out. There will always be that one hermit or internet equivalent of one who will like the show, and who will convince another that it is good, thus constituting a fandom. The question is, when will it become IRRELEVANT? Some would say it already is. The world at large has mostly forgotten about this. Some would say never, because we are always relevant to ourselves.
Let's see... it took about 4 years after Kim Possible was done before their fans stopped really talking about them... depends on the reruns I suppose. Then again I got sick of Futurama because of the reruns, but then they brought it back. And this is what number version of MLP we're watching now?
I think that many people "leave" the active fandom after a year or two, after the Show officialy ended. Then only the "hardcore" Fans like me will stay and need to please their ponyneeds with fanmade things like now in the season 3 break. Those probably never leave the fandom actively but it wont be the same like now.
I'm still an avid fan of Kim Possible. The writers even said that if they came up with more ideas for the show that they'd re-open it. But that was a year and a half ago.
We'll never truly die out. We'll always have the memories, and they'll always be that one person who will keep it going anyway if it comes to only one person, which I doubt it ever will. As I said earlier in this thread, we're at our peak, and this peak will continue for a long time. If we do start to die out, it'll be after the show's ended. People are still making fan-made stuff based off of the first season, and it's been almost two years since that first started. It'll be a very very slow process for the fandom to die out after the last series in this case, which could take another 2 years at least for the seasons to end.
