    Well the reason Grievous is so lame in the movie is because at some point, Mace Windu crushed his heart when Grievous was trying to get away, and he never recovered from that. I believe it was or will be covered in the Clone Wars cgi series. It's why he was always coughing and wheezing in the movie.
