as a gamer im legally bound to love video games, but there are times when you just want to take a CD game and break it over your knee,

there's allot of things done right with games and then there are things that can be done right but they never do, this is what that thread is about.

its simply about what you wish they would put in games or fix

like for instance you know those real life strategy games or army games that involve building city's or large number of troops. wouldn't it be cool to zoom in and be one of those little soldiers? id love that idea even if it was just button mashing it would still be cool,
or to zoom in and take control of a little villager in your city and just walk around in it.

    you know stuff like that

My desire is an FPS/Hack-in-slash/RPG/RTS/Sandbox/Dogfighter hybrid.

I want moral choices that actual cause me to pause and think, ones that cause real affects.

I'd also like a game that takes place on a risk style board, then zooms in like the total war series. Zoom in again so it's like the battles of total war series.

One more zoom to take control of one unit. I don't care for time period or setting. Just that would be a awesome concept.

That idea. SELL IT. I was thinking the EXACT same thing.

That and more Sword Beams in the Legend of Zelda games. That move was the bomb.

Edit: From Wikipedia: "At E3 2011, Konami announced the 'Zone of the Enders HD Collection', a re-release of the two main Zone of the Enders games on the PS3, PS Vita and Xbox 360 due out in 2012. It includes updated interfaces for the HD resolutions, redrawn art, Trophy/Achievement support, improved audio and rumble support." Huzzah!

I mean bigger battles. Imagine zooming in to one unit then the game turns into BF3 style gameplay. Zoom out it turnes into total war. Zoom out again it becomes risk or civ.

    It'd be so awesome.

One thing I have always treasured deeply is a sense of morality.
Fallout 3 captured this perfectly. And not just with the karma system, planned so that both sides had benefits. Especially the evil side...
More importantly, the entire plot. Corruption, morality, the idea of civilization in the remains of what used to be...
    So, Morality.
Next, I want cooperative gameplay. Fallout still lacks this, sadly. I can only imagine walking alongside my comrades, covered in the blood of the Enclave....
    So, co-op.
    Most importantly, factions.
I love the feeling of picking sides, and going to war with the opposing sides. Fallout New Vegas did this rather well, especially when they resurrected the oldest faction in the book. NCR and proud. I loved the feeling of meeting all the factions' major characters, their personalities, and their opinions of the other factions. For example, there is one man in Fallout NV, who, after his entire camp is killed by their enemy, the Legion, decides to patrol the camp's remains and warn oncoming travelers. He also, if talked to for a bit, will tell you he doesn't want the troops who were not killed by the radiation bombs to suffer, and asks you to kill the mutated soldiers.
    So, factions.
Finally and next most important, theme.
Theming a game everything to me. The theme of Fallout- or at least, in my eyes- is morality. Does everything disappear when the apocalypse happens?
    Theming.
    Morality and choices.
    Co-op.
    Factions.
These are what will make the best game ever, in my opinion.

I like games with simplicity and free movement, but at the same tme I would love a game like Halo Wars but you get to get to play it first-person when everything is set in motion.:)

I want a realistic down-to-earth game that's completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots, and you should win things by playing.

    No. Not, Really.

What I would like to have is a Giant battle that each side can influence the battle without it turning into who gets the most about of kills.

    Here is my idea.

You divide the battle into three sections that will all happen at the same time.

One section deals with all land troops, and they have to fight threw way through the enemy troops to a Base or somewhere important (They would fight in a city). Troops may also help out the Aircraft with Anti-Aircraft missile, and help out the navy by jumping into Subs and attacking enemy ships.

Another Section Deals with Aircraft dog fighting in the air and protecting bombers who come in and try to destroy building and troops on the ground to help the troops. They may also help out the Navy by bombing ships. However, the may also be paratroopers that try and get behind enemy lands, or they may try to board carriers or help carriers by landing on them.

The Navy's job is to destroy enemy ships, help destroy aircraft, and provide naval support for the troops on the ground. Not only that, but they will have to go around on the ship to repair if it gets damaged, but they may have to get on little rafts and be saved by allied ships or they may take their rafts and try to get on land and help their ground troops.

On the map there will be air bases that can be destroyed. Once All carriers and Air bases are destroyed, then Air support ceases (Also, when you run out of Aircrafts). If all Naval is destroyed, then no more naval support.

Once you Kill ALL Land forces, then you win or if you capture the base.

The Map will have a bar at the top that shows how close the other one is winning for that section.

Take Star Wars Battlefield and Expand it so Both the land battle and Space battle happen at the same time.

You would be given A lot of troops (1,000 or so but that may or may not include the tanks, Alty, Anti-Air, and other stuff that land troops). A decent size of Aircraft (500). A small amount of Naval forces (35).

I like this idea because it requires that each side must fight to win so it helps in the overall battle. There is this since of teamwork but also working alone.

The point of the game is that it is long.

There would be awards in doing well (They would be divided up by the section, but people could have badges for doing the best overall), but not anything like COD where you are given bonus. It's more like you are allowed different paint jobs or something along those lines.
Also, you are awarded medals and people can see those medals (You are allowed to win medals many times and it will state how many times you got it). There would be things like "Most Kills for Ground", "Most Kills without dying", "Lasted the Longest", "Unsinkable" (A ship you are on is at very low health, but doesn't sink despite being attacked for a certain period of time), "No Damage", "Rival" (Where you kept fighting a certain person so most of your kills and deaths came from them), "Successful Board" (Capturing an enemy Ship), "Unstoppable" (Ground Troops gaining land, and never losing a certain about of land), Etc.

I love games that immerse me in their world without making it too complicated. Fantasy is my favorite. Stuff with swords is always good. I also enjoy a little first or third-person shooter. Still, the RPG style game is my favorite.

When I was a little kid, I loved Risk (I still do), so maps with troop movements are a welcome sight.

I want space ships battles where you can actually damage and destroy almost any object and hull part on ships rather than just simple a HP bar that cause the ship to vaporize when it reaches 0.

Star Trek: Bridge Commander had a combat system similar to that but that game is kinda old now.

also I want to see more story in the games.

Freelancer had things like that, although it did have a basic HP bar, shooting different points did more or less damage, and hurts that part, like shooting the engines will make move a lot slower, and not able to shoot off with cruise engines. you can also shoot the guns off, like go up to a battle ship or station, shoot the guns and they will come off. I loved that game

I like having story in theory, but my mind wanders all over the place and can't pay attention for long, sad, because I want to know, but I somewhat can't. MGS series was one of the only series' where I payed full attention the whole time (favourite series as well :p).
I played Star Wars: The Old Republic, which is an MMO with a fully-voiced, in-depth story, but I just couldn't pay attention, and ended up skipping scenes...
