the idea sorta struck me awhile back but, wouldn't it be fun/awesome to make a song for everypony radio as advertisement for the sight? and i don't mean by just a good beat but with original lyrics and everything. thoughts?
Well, firstly...let's loose an 'E' from that title. Secondly, hmm...How about a rap? I'd love a Rock Ballad but I can see it being hard to create compared to a fun little rap. Also, my rather limited Brony Music knowledge seems to suggest that we'd find more ponies able to remix than rock. Ah well...
haha i didnt even see the extra E, XD i pulled a depry :derpe: true most if not all of brony music is remix's but that isnt really a bad thing is it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPfMb50dsOk&feature=related not to mention it would be hard to fit everypony radio as lyrics in a rock balled
I'd love a rock ballad as well, simply because techno themes are too manestream, and we're hipsters like that.
Well...I consider myself a half decent guitarist....Sort of...Maybe...I'd certainly help but I'm not sure how good a composer I am though. This is even on the assumption that Rock was the way to go here, of course!
Perhaps one of the musicians would be willing to help out? If we could get Tarby or Prince Whateverer, or even a collab going between some of them... So much epic.
lets not forget who would sing the thing? perhaps auditions for main and background singers when its all done? anyway its just a fun little idea, and why not a combination of rock and a small bit of dudestep?
I can remix, rock, and do whatever they do in Ghana and Indonesia. I think we have the right idea, but I really don't want to do dubstep. Even though I think it's cool, I really hate it at the same time. It's just noise. But if we do a small amount of it, I'm fine with that. Oh yeah I want to work on it too.
We could make it into almost a mix tape format, where it changes genres after a certain amount of time. That could be interesting. Sort of like what Martin Solveig did here: I would post it as a Soundcloud, but when I tried doing that it didn't seem to want to play. sounds interesting enough worth a try, i also like the kind of set up this brony song has, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN45uptfg0s&feature=relmfu haha we cant really do anything till we think of a good combo of music
I have: Yamaha CS01 (really epic analog bass synth from 80s) E-Mu Sr-17 (I think it's called that) drum machine A really nice electric bass, although I can't recall what kind A Fender Stratocaster Drum Set with various brands of parts Kpanlogo Drum from Ghana Upright piano Various small percussion instruments access to an Indonesian Gamelan access to professional recording studio for free anytime I want mics, mix tape stuff Casio LK-30 (pretty bad, but really nice orchestra strings tone) Amp Flanger pedal Metal Distortion Pedal Delay box No singing talent A wide range of musical intrests Let's do this! I want a metal/dubstep sound w/ strings or a choir.
It all depends on the artist. Some people like to write out the entire song first, then make the music. Some like to get the chorus down first, then verses come later. And of course, some write the music first, then create lyrics to fit. It all depends on how they're comfortable in creating music.
Let's do the music first, but we should get an idea of what the lyrics will sound like so we can fit them into the song.
