Jhera looked towards the pony who had addressed him. He recognized her voice from a moment ago. "My name is Jhera." He whispered. She regarded him oddly, like he had not said anything. He sighed and repeated "My name is Jhera." No reaction again. Gathering up his courage, he said "Jhera. My name is Jhera Flowers. I came here from Fillydelphia on a train searching for-" he caught himself mid sentence. What would he say, that all the adults in Fillydelphia had vanished? "Fwahweh!" Fernleaf said from his saddle. He regarded her oddly. "Dunno what that means. This is my sister Fernleaf, she's travelling with me and...well I suppose I have to take care of her now." He didn't feel like revealing more, so he turned back to Snow. "So who are you, and the rest of this group?" He gestured at the nearby foals.
"I'm Silver Shield, but you can call me Silver," he said, this time refraining from bowing or doing anything else pompous.
Jhera looked towards Silver. "Hello!" he piped. He obviously had more courage than earlier. "Fweeeee!" Fernleaf yelled from his packs. Annoyed, Jhera turned to her and said "Seriously, shut up! I'm doing you a favor!" she just looked at him obliviously. He turned back to the two ponies. "I don't really know what to do with her. She just sort of sits there and does...absolutely nothing." His face scrunched. She actually DIDN'T do anything useful. Maybe he could teach her something later.
Name: Arcane Oracular gender/race: Male/Pegasus Family: Older Brother named Rune Location: Outskirts of the Everfree (or is it evergreen?) Forest
Arcane lived with his older brother, Rune, about half a mile or so from the everfree forest. They got their food from there, lived in an old rocky area, were unaware of other ponies but knew they exsisted, and lived inside a nice home. Arcane's brother had his cutie mark, a red alchemist like rune, but Arcane didn't have one. One day things went bad. Rune charged in telling Arcane to pack what he could in 5 minutes. As Arcane packed the ground would violently shake more and more each minute. (oops been refering to myself in the third person) When I looked outside I saw something I had only seen in the story books we had. An Ursa Major. Though my brother taught me that what the book was refering to as an Ursa Major was actually and Ursa Minor I still preferred to use the word major. When I quickly finished packing I flew out the window and looked around for my brother. Suddenly the Ursa Minor collided with the house. I looked around and saw my brother nowhere. Without thinking about searching through the rubble I flew off away from the everfree forest bawling his eyes out.
Try to get our Cutie Marks together? That sounds...fun!, Quill thought. Making new friends was always good, too. Then he introduced himself to the newcomer. He bowed as he said, "My name is Quilliam Bartholomew Inkwell the Third." When he raised his head, he sheepishly told the rest, "If, uh...that's too awkward, you may call me Quill. I don't mind." "Just, uh, please don't call me 'Little Quill'. That's what ponies call me when my father's around. Thank you all in advance." He grinned hopefully.
Jhera nodded. "Good to meet'cha Quill! I suppose going cutie mark hunting would sound fun." He sure hoped Talon wouldn't mind being deserted a while. Funny how he had never really thought of cutie mark hunting in a group before. (The Fillydelphia thing won't be huge or anything, it's gonna be resolved in a few posts or so. Then I'll be able to get more directly involved!)
Dark Shine got changed and went outside to the palace gardens. They were huge! He'd focus on the details but the guard was waiting. "Ok then. Now that your all here... I am going to have to ask you all something very important, Pegasi only!" "Sir yes sir!" Shouted every one of the Pegasi. "Can you fly and what's your talent?" "Sir I can fly and my talent is to guard!" Shouted each of the Pegasi one by one. Then it got to Dark Shine. "Uh...." He did'nt know what to do. He never tried flying and he has'nt got his Cutie mark yet. "Sir... No sir..." The guard looked at Dark Shine, almost expecting to hear an excuse. "I am afraid Dark Shine that you are not yet ready then." He took the armour off of Dark Shine and pointed to the cariage. 'Thats it' thought Dark Shine. 'Your one shot and you blew it...' He walked of towards the carriage, crying. His Family would see him early...
"Hmm. Well, I suppose it sounds like good fun. I'm sure my parents wouldn't like it, but I don't know many things they would like that aren't things like an open house or a garden party..." Shield grimaced. "Sorry. Anyways, I'm in." He wondered what Jhera had meant by saying that he had to take care of the foal on his back. Were they orphans? Shield didn't want to ask, because that would be awkward, so all he could do was wonder...
Snow smiled brightly, "Then let's get started, let's try, um, oh I know, bowling, no. Can you guys think of something?"
Quill tapped his chin with a hoof. He muttered, "Bolly thinks my talent is whining. I'm not sure if he's serious or not." He then thought some more. "I'm terrible at bowling, but I'm kinda good at throwing darts..."
"Perhaps we could look at other ponies's marks?" Jhera said. "Those might give us ideas of the kinds of things we can do!" He yelled hough a moment. "My friend recently got one for mechanics. That's all I can think of at the moment. Anypony else got anything?"
The carriage grinded to a halt in front of a couple of Ponies talking about something or other. He could make out the word mechanic before he was launched over the front of the carriage and over the heads of the Ponies. He wanted to scream. He could'nt fly yet so he was going to crash. He was scared. Dark Shine landed behind the Ponies.
Snow looked at the thrown pony strangely, "Hello who might you be? What just happened, are you ok?" She asked worriedly.
When the pegasus flew and landed directly in front of him, Jhera shrieked like a little girl. Fernleaf dropped out of his packs and crawled towards the downed pony. "Kiwfespppppppp" she said, and she began sucking on his hoof. Jhera looked at her and yelled again. "Fernleaf, NO!" He scooped her up and put her back into his pack. "I am so sorry, this little thing has some MAJOR issues. Do you need help getting up? Are you hurt?" (I just realized, with 2 unicorns, 2 pegasi, and an earth pony, we nearly have our own mane 6 going.) (Another thing, Jhera has a fillydelphian accent)
Silver's mouth twitched into a smile when Fernleaf "viciously attacked" the pegasus who'd landed next to them. Jhera quickly pulled her away, however. He checked to see if the pegasus was alright, and determined that he was.
(Wow, mind=blown, and if you think about it, we all have at least similar personalities and backgrounds to them, mine is kinda a mix of Applejack, Twilight, and Pinkie's friendliness all mixed into one.) Snow couldn't help but laugh at Jhera when he screamed, "Calm down Jhera, all he did was crash in front of us! Now, I think that we should all try something we have never done before in order to get our cutie marks." she said.
Ember came up to Fire and Rex at their stand, "Hey, Breezy," She began, "Mom and Dad are talking about moving to Canterlot this week..." "WHAT?!" Exlaimed Fire, "Why would we do that?!" "I guess it's for business or something..." Ember said, looking rather sad, "They said to start packing up your stuff when you get home..." She walked off. Firebreeze wanted to brake the lemonade stand in half. "I guess this is goodbye..." Rex said sadly. "No," Fire began, "I'm gonna learn how to fly as soon as possible, then I can come visit whenever I want!"
