A lot of things to fit into the thread title, but yeah there's quite a bit of news considering season 2 that's recently been released. From Faust http://fyre-flye.deviantart.com/journal/40428056/ Apparently she's still working on the show, but holding a much smaller influence on the final product (though she's helping with script, so hopefully that'll prevent anything lame going through, the art's pretty much already established for the series so it's kind of hard for them to ruin that). I'm hoping this can be optimistic, but as with anything it's definitely something to be cautious about. Someone on another site linked this but I'm not sure how trustworthy it is, if it is then wow, they work quickly if 7 episodes are already done... http://kreoss.deviantart.com/journal/40422730/ But yeah, Luna returns and apparently they don't ruin that, Derpy's a canon character (I'm guessing under the name Ditzy Doo) and they add new characters, but honestly that's not all that surprising for a second season to add new characters to something - but if this is true what it does seem like is that they do take hints from the fanbase.
Wow, that was rather... unexpected. I must say I can't see that as a good move, if it did so well why remove her from that position? Anyway nice find Derpy! ~ Moved to announcements/news ~
Well it seems like it was parietally her decision by the way she worded it, perhaps as it gained popularity and Hasbro more willing to put more money in it the production team grew to the point where she can't effectively be the head, maybe she's too busy with other projects or something, idk. But also note that the show is basically a 30 minute advertisement, it's much easier to get an audience of the actual intended audience (young girls) and hold them with just the name - they're the ones that actually buy the toys so note that the brony following is going to be less important to Hasbro as far as their decisions on the show go about, that is if it was their decision. I guess let's just be glad she's still in there some way.
Information is off. Derpy is canon right now, in the fact that she's in storyboards. Luna is making a return, that's correct. Here's something- kreoss (who actually does work on the show) said that 7 episodes are done. In storyboards and voice acting, that is. They've yet to begin actual animating and layout.
"Information is off. Derpy is canon right now, in the fact that she's in storyboards." I meant as in she's actually going to be a character (more then just background) in season 2 But thanks for clearing it up about kreoss, I couldn't really find his connection with the show

While I was in shock myself, I think people overreacted. It sounded like she was directly leaving, when in fact she was just changing to a lighter position. She probably was overworked, or maybe didn't have the same free will from the start anymore. Whatever the reason, I think it was her choice, not Hasbro's.
